Jeez.. I didn't know that. Poor guy. This week is not going to be easy for him. That's harsh, especially at this time of year.

Although there isn't a good time of year for something like that to happen.

My sympathies go to him and his family.

I know you've sourced this from elsewhere BigSister, so I'm not mocking you when I say I find it hilarious that anyone would identify Always On My Mind with Willie Nelson (seldom has a song been so thoroughly slaughtered) rather than Elvis. They may as well have gone all the way and said Pet Shop Boys instead.

Brenda - Somebody Else's Guy (Jocelyn Brown - I think) Great song, I'm looking forward to hearing this.
Maria - You're Beautiful (James Blunt) maria is one of the best in the contest. I wouldn't have thought that this would be the sort of song she would sing, but I'm sure she'll do great with it.
Chico - Kiss (Prince) I await his performance with interest. This sort of song is the best sort for Chico I think.
Journey South - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack) I cannot see anybody doing this song justice. Not sure how they're going to pull it off.
Conway Sisters - One Voice (Barry Manilow) I can't bring this song to mind. Appropriate title though, as only one of them seems to do any real work.
Chenai - Always On My Mind (Willie Nelson) I like Willie Nelson's version of this, I must admit. Not been impressed with Chenai's live preformances so far, but I do like her, and hope she can pull it off.
Shayne - You Make Me Feel Brand New (Stylistics) He'll probaby do a good job of it.
Nicholas - I Want You Back (Jackson 5) I really can't see Nicholas doing too well with this, but I thought that with the last two songs he did as well before I saw him do them, and I think he did them pretty well.
Andy not chose his yet as hes away burying his mum Poor Andy. This must be a very stressful time for him.

Thanks for the info BigSister

There's 8 weeks left of X-Factor if it's a 2 person final so that would go after x-mas.

As for the song choices:

Brenda - Somebody Else's Guy (Jocelyn Brown - I think) She should do great with this.
Maria - You're Beautiful (James Blunt) I can imagine her doing a good version of this song.
Chico - Kiss (Prince) Should be entertaining.
Journey South - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack) Not sure this is a very good choice for them.
Conway Sisters - One Voice (Barry Manilow)Bit bland, like them.
Chenai - Always On My Mind (Willie Nelson) Difficult song but she could actually do well with it.
Shayne - You Make Me Feel Brand New (Stylistics) Good choice after last week he should get back on track.
Nicholas - I Want You Back (Jackson 5) I am not sure this will get the best out of Nicholas.

Brenda - Somebody Else's Guy (Jocelyn Brown - I think) hard song but she should be okay.
Maria - You're Beautiful (James Blunt) Theres something about Maria that really annoys me she has a fantastic voice but i don't know. Also this song wont suit her i don't think
Chico - Kiss (Prince) Should be entertaining i quite lie chico now hes sweet.
Journey South - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack) i relaly like them but i cant seeing them doing well on this song
Conway Sisters - One Voice (Barry Manilow)i dont know the song so i cant really comment.
Chenai - Always On My Mind (Willie Nelson) Not sure about the song choice however i remember she sung it a bootcamp and she sounded great. I think she will do it justice
Shayne - You Make Me Feel Brand New (Stylistics) Great choice. I think it will be performance of th enight.
Nicholas - I Want You Back (Jackson 5) Not a good choice for him. I think he may be in the bottom 2.

I think it's a brilliant selecton of songs, whether I like them personally or not. [I thought the same last week too though, never expecting them all (other than Maria, who was brilliant, and a few others that were just okay) to be so poor]. The Conway Sisters & Nicholas have songs that are just too big for them, Journey South have a beautiful song that I don't think they can do any justice to, and Chenai & Maria have unusual songs, but I think they'll both cope okay. Brenda has another song that doesn't require any real effort once again, Shayne's is more difficult than it seems and he'll need to really deliver, and Chico I'm pretty sure will finally be found out with a song that's totally out of his league.

Did you see Alice being interviewed on BBC News 24's Hard Talk yesterday, Scoobs?
