Katie Waissel to sing 'The Bitch Is Back'?


Katie Waissel is reportedly planning to sing Elton John's 'The Bitch Is Back' on this week's X Factor.

According to The Mirror, Waissel hopes that her song selection will show viewers a more playful side to her character and demonstrate that she has a sense of humour about herself.

It was previously confirmed that this Saturday's X Factor live show will have an Elton John theme.

A source said: "Katie has been a diva but has also had her fair share of problems on the show, and the idea is this song will show she doesn’t take herself too seriously.

"The track shows she is up for a laugh and can see she isn't universally liked. It will be a bit tongue-in-cheek. She knows she can't be everyone's cup of tea but wants to get across a jokey element."

However, the source noted: "This could be the perfect song to do that, but clearly some people might take it literally because they have already made their mind up about her."

Waissel recently defended herself against accusations that she is 'fake', claiming that she is "just a girl that wants to go and sing".

BIG BIG mistake to do that song ... as fruitcake says, she is labelling herself and will not endear herself to anyone who already dislikes her, if anything it could make matters worse for her

She would be better doing Im Still Standing ... it has the tongue in cheek element but does not label her as a bitch

I think she needs to come out and sing her socks off..?? no controversy, Just Katie singing a good honest song trying her best to stay in the competition.. that's her best chance IMO. I think there's a lot of neutral voters who if they see Katie show a bit of character and decency will suddenly like her and keep her in... get Wagner out first I reckon, and I reckon a lot of people would agree with me!!!!!

After three times being saved, 'I'm still standing' would seem quite appropriate.

One of my favourite Elton john songs is Border song...''Let us find a way to make all hatred cease'' She could sing it as an appeal to the Xfactor fans to bury the hatchet, but they will probably still want to bury it in the back of her head.

Definitely should go with something slow and tuneful like that one.

Katie has mostly chosen interesting and obscure songs. Very often I've had to google them as they're unfamiliar to me. Say what you want, she's not taken a safe route and that makes her interesting.

I've gone from actively disliking her to wondering what she's gonna sing next.
