Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
Steve Brookstein Against All Odds Against All The Odds Steve came out on top as the winner of The X Factor 2004. The Song's meaning reflects that Steve never expected to win, but did. Shayne Ward That's My Goal Shayne's goal in 2005 was to win The X Factor and he did that. Just like Steve's, The song can also be used as a Love Song but all in all it basically shows us that Shayne was going to give it his all and then he won. This song remains my favourite X Factor winner's song ever. Leona Lewis A Moment Like This Pretty self explanatory, The song describes Leona winning the show and what it meant to her. That winning moment that people 'wait a lifetime for' was what Leona got in 2006. Leon Jackson When You Believe Leon sings about the miracle that he won X Factor, 2007 saw a very poor series but the song Leon sings about tells us of the Miracle that happened to him. Alexandra Burke Hallelujah Hallelujah! Alexandra Wins The X Factor 2008! Although the song's original meaning was about Sex, when Alexandra sang it was her way of singing about how gracious she was of the fact she won. Joe McElderry The Climb A very nice song indeed, This song basically told us about how much of a Journey, Joe had been on and the massive climb it took for him to get to the top spot of The X Factor 2009. A Very good song for 'Looking Back..' Which brings us too... Matt Cardle When We Collide Matt sings her about 'colliding' with his loved one. And if they don't they'll always be apart, in other words if she doesn't ride him they'll never be together. Now, so many people say 2010's Winner's Song was the best. No it's not. How on earth did that song even deserve to be a winner's song? It has NOTHING what so ever to do with winning, at all. Shayne, Steve and maybe Leona's songs were love songs yes. But at least they also had a meaning to them for winning or becoming a champion. Matt's song had nothing what so ever to do with winning or succeeding in anyway, shape or form. Can someone please tell me how this song is so loved? Simon made a really bad choice with this song. For this year's X Factor, he really should get someone in to write the winner's song again, like in 2005.

someone didn't see Peter Kay's Britain's Got the Pop Factor.
the idea of your average "I came so far, omg the competition was really hard, Louis saved me in week 5, haha Treyc eat that" winners song lyrics got boring.

Yeah I remember when I watched her's on the final I wanted her song to win just for the fact it had abit of a meaning to it.
It's not a winner's song though! It's a great song sure, infact I love it but it has nothing to do with winning or achieving something, where as the other's do.

Of course it is, The song is obviously about Sex originally but the word Hallelujah of course celebrates something at the end of an achievement.

Just because the song is released by the winner doesnt actually mean it has to be a song about winning either Last edited by MTVN; 01-01-2011 at 07:35 PM. |

They should move the release of these songs away from christmas. Then they can be as dreary(like this one) as they want. Sick of the christmas charts being hijacked every year. Simon has killed a massive tradition off totally...who will be christmas number one used to be a huge thing.
