Bruv house split in two

THE Big Brother house could be split into two sections for the next series.

There will be a basic area, which all the contestants use.

And there will be a more luxurious zone which can be accessed as a treat by those who complete their tasks.

Channel 4 chiefs have decided to build a new Big Brother house at Elstree studios in Herts, where EastEnders and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? are filmed.

They have been hunting for a new site since the original house in East London was bulldozed earlier this year.

Insiders say local council chiefs have already given informal approval for the property to be built — although no planning application has yet been lodged.

The house will include solar panels and the usual hot tub, where lovebird housemates Helen Adams and Paul Clarke frolicked in the last series.

The third Big Brother series is due to be screened this summer. But chiefs are considering delaying its start until the World Cup finishes at the end of June.

Bosses started the search for new contestants a few weeks ago and are expecting more than 50,000 applications.

A show insider said: “We are already talking to the local council about the new house.

“Ideas include having a more luxurious area which the contestants can access as a treat.

“There are also talks going on about whether we should delay the show until after the World Cup, although nothing has been decided yet.”

The idea for a luxury area came from the latest Dutch version of Big Brother, where producers spiced up the show with a “rich man’s level” and a “poor man’s level”.
