Maybe just the turkey at Christmas or wedding traditions. May be a family one personal to yourselves or just to where you live?
Is/Are there any tradition(s) you'd hate to die out? And yes, inspired by Kate and Will not going on honeymoon. Well, not yet anyway..... |

The family eating breakfast and dinner around the dining room table. I don't believe in TV dinners unless it is the very odd occasion

My family would never allow that.

Same, we were never allowed. I like that tradition though, it means the family all have to sit around the table and talk as opposed to watch TV. It's the one time of the day that the family come together properly.

My family only ever eat the table at Christmas, we all usually eat at different times and eat different things. But we talk loads during the day so I suppose that's the main point really.

We only eat once or maybe twice a week around the table although that's mainly because we're rarely all in the house when it's around dinner time, my parents normally eat together but I'll often just make myself something at a different time and sit on the couch and eat

The Christmas thing for me, being at Uni I see little of Family, and at Christmas it's a big get together, not for presents etc but for lots more than just talking too, being part of all that goes on, the atmosphere, the food, eating together, daft games, no clock watching and hurrying here and there, everyone involved in all that goes on, then the evening with a fair amount of family staying over for a day or two more.
I hope that tradition stays in the main,it's a togetherness you cannot put a value to,its priceless. |
