Default BB12 Rusting eye Logo

With this years theme being decadence I decided to try and put that into a logo

decadence
1. A process, condition, or period of deterioration or decline, as in morals or art; decay.

This shows the BB eye rusting away, the layers peeling away!

Imagine the house with peeling gold mirrors!, broken chandeliers!

Could be amazing

The idea is good. I like the idea of a decaying design. The way its been executed is ugly. It looks cheap and tacky.

Wouldn't like seeing it for the whole of BB but it's still really good.

same - I'm not really sure how it'd work in eye flashes, or opening titles, but I like it as an eye.

The word has extended beyond it's original definition. Does anyone read, no? I imagine somehow they mean 'decadence' in the popularized sense of being lavish and overindulgent. Like 80's boom decadence. Like how the BB9 bathroom was decadent. Not things falling apart decadence.

Even in the old sense anyway the decadent fall in society doesn't refer to actual structural decay or some sort of weird apocalyptic scenario, more the fall of morals, principals and self control.

More to the point ellie....it is YOUR interpretation of decadence - and you should be allowed to share that with others - whether they agree or not - without being 'told' otherwise.

I happen to like it - and the decaying representation behind it.

Where did I tell him he wasn't free to do his own interpretation? Quote that to me, please. I'll wait right here.

All I'm saying is I have seen a slew of Big Brother fans who don't know what the word means running to Google to look it up and take it's base definition way too seriously. It's a misinterpretation and in BB land the wrong one.

Your first post makes it clear what you are 'telling' elliebrew. All I am pointing out is that the interpretation is one that Ellie feels. You may not agree, but that's the nature of the beast.

Interpretation, particularly in regards to creativity, such as ellie as displayed - is a highly subjective and personal matter. It's not for one person to say what is 'a misinterpretation and in BB land the wrong one' . That surely is down to the individual.

What you quoted wasn't me telling him he wasn't free to his own interpretation though. It was me talking about the official theme. Not Elliebrew's design. Hence why I said the theme and not your theme.

In addition to that it's painfully, painfully obvious that you are simply taking your wrath from the other thread you didn't reply to and applying it here instead. Of course you will deny this but it's a pretty paper thin trick that wisened old losers like me see right through.

His free to his own interpretation but I believe it wasn't a concious desicion. Merely a misunderstanding of the original word in question.

I think it would have been a perfect BB11 eye...I wasn't so keen on the flowers. (but then I guess the whole carnival thing would've been defunct)

BIB. It's nice to see that NONE of us are perfect.

Good to read that you agree that there is an understanding on a 'misunderstanding of the original word in question'.

Interpretation is a very subjective viewpoint and therein lies the difference in the very nature of an interpretation.

Individuality is one of the very thigns that makes the human being interesting.

Ugly.

I really hope this theme isn't actually visible in the house, more just a decline in housemate morals rather than having the walls made of metal and having splashes of Brown and Grey paint everywhere with the occasional Green grime.
