Homeland is an American psychological thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, based on the Israeli series Hatufim, also known as Prisoners of War, which was created by Gideon Raff.[1] The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA operations officer who has come to believe that an American Marine, who was held captive by Al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war, was turned by the enemy and now poses a significant risk to national security. The pilot episode has received universal acclaim, scoring a Metacritic rating of 91 out of 100 from 28 critics.[27] Hank Stuever of The Washington Post gave the pilot episode an A-, saying "What makes Homeland rise above other post-9/11 dramas is Danes's stellar performance as Carrie—easily this season's strongest female character" and that "The latter half of the first episode is exhilarating. I'm hooked." Showtime renewed the series for a second season of 12 episodes, with production scheduled to begin in spring 2012. Looks like it will be fairly brilliant Channel 4 are showing it over here, not sure when. Last edited by Locke.; 07-05-2012 at 12:48 AM. |

Just watched the first one, probably the strongest opening episode I've seen since Lost in 2004. Claire Danes is really good in it.

I have caught up with America now. There has only been one bad episode so far, and even the ending to that made up for it. The latest episode was one of the strongest so far aswell. |

Episode 11 was brilliant. Claire Danes has got the lead actress emmy tied up, there is no way she cannot win it now.
Next weeks finale looks incredible. This show is head and shoulders above every other show on TV at the minute |

Sunday's Homeland finale pulled in highly impressive ratings for Showtime.
The dark drama series, starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, concluded with 1.7 million viewers in its 10pm timeslot, growing to over 2m across the night's other airings. As well as being its highest-rated episode since premiering in the fall, Homeland has become Showtime's best freshman series. Exec producers Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon have said that the show will change radically in next year's second season, which was commissioned in October. Homeland's first season will premiere in the UK in the New Year on Channel 4. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/new...-showtime.html The finale itself was pretty good. Anyone watching should avoid watching the promo though, it spoils far too much. |

Channel 4 have been playing the promo for the last week or so, air date hasn't been confirmed yet but it's apparently the 18th of February. This thread just about sums up why you must all watch it - http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1624258
It has already been renewed for a second season, and recently won Best Drama at the Golden Globes, as well as Claire Danes winning Best Lead Actress. |

I just started watching this show a couple of days ago, and it's AMAZING. SOOO good.
But i was actualy looking for a thread about this show because something has been pissing me off about it, the BLATENT advertising in it. Have you noticed that all of the laptop computers have a windows logo instead of an apple logo on them? Since when is there any computer with a windows logo on it in the world? there arn't any. And this last episode i just watched, it literallty spent 30 seconds talking about Vitamin Water. he was like "what's vitamin water? is it some type of medicine? then the cashier is like no! it's like flavoured water, it's totally delicious!" LMAO. This advertising in the middle of the show is really annoying imo. I do love Homeland though, it's amazing show.

Saved all of the shows and watched them in order after the entire round aired. Much nicer than having to wait week to week. Marathon style.

That's how i watch all premium cable shows. It's the only way. Whenever i try to watch these 1 hour drama's in order in time, i always forget so much between eps. Watching them in a marathon is sooo much better.

I can live with getting one a week like most cable shows are, shows on the mainstream channels like Fox, ABC, etc are a lot worse.. so many breaks and repeats of past episodes.
