The judges have to say it don't they (it's the final) best performance ever etc. you have improved so much. Well not what I was seeing.
Just to be clear I was a fan of all three finalists, and I have been following Marcus the longest, but no way was that his best night. He seemed a little nervey and he really wasn't his usual confident self. But the worst was ''Last Christmas'', singing aside you just don't try and do a jolly jig to that and it was all out of time. Little Mix I have to concede you nailed it, Silent Night possibly the shakiest. But when they go out of solo and into harmony they are always bloody fantastic. His winners song was still better than the girls group but their other two performances were better IMO.
He did seem like a beaten man though during the winners song or maybe it was just emotion, either way he still done very well with it.

The weird thing with the X Factor, that with two or three exceptions, it's hardly ever the winners who do the best from it. I expect Marcus will do ok from it and get some offers from some record companies, so he will be ok He is not contracted for is it a year at the least? as Little Mix will be.
I do agree with both your posts though. I still think Rhydian was robbed but he seems to be doing well Must treat myself to his third album for Christmas |

I also see a bright future for Marcus. I note he has toned down the fifities style thing and got gradually weaker. Not always best to take heed of the panels comments, especially Tulisa who was mentoring your main rivals. Also think Amelia should do well. |

Little Mix pwned him in all 3 performances I thought. His first repeated one was actually pretty good but the other 2 meh, quite bad vocals at points!

Have to agree, he didn't sound as good as usual - guess it's a lot harder when you are up there singing on your own as well as more scary , whereas with a band, there are 4 of you up there, not standing facing such a massive crowd all on your own, it's easier for the bad singers to be carried by the better ones in the group.

Marcus had a choir helping him for two of his performances and he still couldn't beat Little Mix. He just wasn't good enough.

i was at the final last night, and when i found out that he was singing higher and higher (nowhere near better than reet petit/are you gonna go my way) i knew there was a reason behind it, when i got home and saw the voting figure for the series it all became very clear

I've heard many versions of this song and nothing has ever come close to the original.
