It'll be quite a BB day then, what with Brian on in the morning and the BB program on in the evening as well.

This is from Dominic Mohan's column in the Sun.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big Bruv Brian is first (openly) gay host on kids’ telly

BRIAN DOWLING will become the first openly gay children’s TV host when he presents SM:TV Live tomorrow morning.

The Big Brother winner will join Cat Deeley and James Redmond — who front the ITV1 programme — after signing a £500 per show contract.

He will work with the show’s other new face, blonde model Tess Daly, doing celebrity interviews and sketches.

Brian, who came out just before appearing on Big Brother last year, told me: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled. I can’t believe I’m working on a programme I have watched for so long. I’m even looking forward to the early mornings.’

Brian was offered the job after getting an amazing response when he guest hosted SM:TV just before Christmas — even though the show’s makers Blaze had already contracted him to do his own programme.

Bosses reckoned Brian’s training in preparation for his show, which is still in production, made him the ideal candidate for the SM:TV job.

A spokesman said: ‘Brian was fantastic when he hosted SM:TV at Christmas. He had great feedback from the kids in the studio and we’ve had loads of e-mails and letters from viewers saying how much they love him.’

An insider added: ‘Brian did host SM:TV when he first came out of the house but, to be frank, it wasn’t great.

‘But when he appeared on the show around Christmas he had really changed and was much better. He’s a welcome part of the SM:TV team.’

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It certainly makes a change for DM to write something positive about someone from BB. Still, he couldn't let the whole article go without finding something negative to say - the infamous 'insider' strikes again.

Where would we be without insiders?

As trivia queen I'd like to share with the group that Tess was the presenter who went to Ibiza with Paul and she was also on smtv with Brian on the show before Christmas. I remember thinking it was double-wierd. The poor girl probably thinks the world is being taken over!

I've just realised that Cat was a model before she did presenting, James was a model before he did acting, so with Tess being a former model too - Brian will be the odd one out! At least it will be hard for anyone to complain about him not having the right background!

I think Brian did a little catwalk work back in August didn't he?

This came through on Ananova today too. For £500 quid each appearance, apparently. It looks like Brian has cracked it, hit the big time, just when we thought it had gone ominously quiet!

What it does show is that a little training in presentation can help enormously, and fan power works!

So, if you want to see more of any of them, lots of effusive emails required I think!

Im sure the only person in the world who thinks that girlie, Brian will make millions more watch the show - he will bring life and humour as well. Haven't you got a nice word to say about anyone but Helen?

I simply adore Helen. What is wrong with that? I just cannot warm to Brian or Paul and probably never will. Nothing wrong with that either. Each to his/her own. Millions may like Brian and/or Paul but I am a free thinking independent spirit and I refuse to jump on any old bandwagon just because it is 'popular'. I hope that answers your question, Mark. I liked Helen most. Amma and Bubble and Paddy were also okayish. I liked Stuart (successful businessman, older etc) until his attack on Amma. Did not mind his attack on Penny though as I think she enjoyed it.

Girlie we are all free spirits, and we liked Brian and Paul for our own individual reasons. I liked Brian as I thought he was fun and brought some life into the house. I liked Paul as he was also fun and he always had something to say.
I am 99% sure that people didn't like Brian as he was the most popular, no infact I am 100% sure.

I thought Brian did great on sm:tv yesterday morning. I saw him in the two spoofs, Casually and the space one.

He seemed to be very well received by the studio audience and got huge cheers when he appeared and huge laughs at his punchlines.

Good on you Brian - go boy!

Sorry, but I actually meant that your comment about Paul being fun and having lots to say was hilarious !!! He never said anything interesting EVER and as for 'him being fun', did I miss that then? Did I blink? as Josh would say.

Did anyone watch Brian's second show?

I thought he did ok on the first one, but he often came over as a bit unsure and nervous - mind you he was still better than James Redmond who brings a whole new meaning to the wooden.

I thought that Brian was so much more confident this week and did really well in all his bits of the show. This is such a perfect show for him to develop his TV career.

Well done Brian - I'm looking forward to watching more of you.

For the first time last Saturday I actually watched Brian on SMTV! (the episode with Britt Spears)

I thought he was hilarious! Especially when he was playing goalkeeper!! lol

I was unsure of his jumper - looked a bit 1920's!

I am a truly huge Brian fan so my comments about him on SM:tv live will obviously reflect that. Like anyone who starts a new job, especially if they have never done anything like it before, it will all be a bit daunting and strange, but for all that Brian handled presenting SM:tv live amazingly well. As each week has gone by, Brian has proved even more what a truly natural and charasmatic tv star he is. All the press tv critics have lavished praise on him, he is often no. 1 or at least in the top 10 of popularity polls, and the studio audiences reaction everytime he does anything in the show also reflects just how brilliant they think he is too.
I think SM:tv will remain as popular as ever mainly as a result of signing Brian up, he brings so much fun and naughty-boy style humour that is so much part of what SM;tv has been and is all about, they can't fail with him on board. If it wasn't for Brian I don't think the programme would be half as good.
I am so glad we are able to watch Brian every week, it certainly is worth getting up early on a Saturday morning for!
