A woman was tonight charged with the murder of a 13-year-old girl who was found fatally stabbed in a park.

South Yorkshire Police said Hannah Bonser, 26, will appear before Doncaster magistrates tomorrow charged with the murder of Casey-Lyanne Kearney.

The teenager was found lying fatally injured in Elmfield Park, Doncaster, yesterday afternoon after dialling 999 for help. She was taken to hospital but later died.

Speaking near the scene, senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Terry Mann said Casey-Lyanne had left her home at around midday yesterday, intending to catch the bus to Doncaster town centre where she was then going to meet a friend.

He said: "We believe that she then got off somewhere around this area here, and the next part we know is that, at 18 minutes past one yesterday, a call is received via South Yorkshire Police switchboard from Casey herself to say that she had been stabbed.

Casey was stabbed to death by a 26 year old woman at lunchtime on Tuesday. On the same morning other children have stated they were approached by a 'drunk woman' who asked why they were running. Locals have been asking for CCTV in this park as there have been other incidents...not murders. It's not yet known any circumstances surrounding the attack.
I cannot imagine what Casey's family and friends are going through

No..other children have told of a woman 'clearly drunk' and swearing loudly..I would guess these incidents are not reported if they did not at the time deem her a threat....I wonder if it was because it was a female...maybe not. She was known to local NHS and social services
