Cowell thinks he's the modern day Berry Gordy. The only problem with this is that Berry Gordy as with Ahmet Ertugen had an ear for music, Cowell is tone deaf.

I agree with this. Mr Blobby proved it to be correct as well. Saturate TV with a pink and yellow spotted idiot = No.1 record.

I don't see how anyone argue that X factor hasn't helped to completely bastardise the art form of music tbh. It's certainly not what initially stabbed it in the heart, but it's twisting the knife until everything bleeds out.

The trouble with X Factor and music is that the competition on the show is just about singing cover versions of popular songs. It doesn't tell the record-buying public anything about what their eventual original material will be like, so a lot of sales will be based solely on perceived style and image - as well as fan-support from the show of course.

yup, that's where I feel James was different and refreshing, you could actually tell what he would release and that he put his own spin on every song he sang

Reminds me of when Cher and Simon tried to get her a collab with some Grime Guys to boost her "Street rep". Most of them told her to piss off as "We've been grafting without goin on some bs show, we arent the same". I imagine a lot of Artists feel that way too.

I think that the Music Industry isn't that strong at the moment because alot of the artists around now are around because of there looks instead of there talent, and The X Factor could've have been a great platform for talented singers to do well but the producers pushed for some bad winners that was never gonna succeed, and the actual talented ones that did win was given bad songs, or covers in some cases that completely destroyed any chances they had of doing well, and some X Factor acts just have never been given enough exposure if they never won the show, it's sad though as Rhydian and Aiden have had some strong singles that should have done better since they've left TXF.

I'm sorry for the long post, I just had alot to get off my chest lol.
