TiBB'S TOP SONG OF 2012
Welcome to the Top Song of 2012. We'll begin with a Top 185 of the year, hand-picked through the following methods:
- Any song that has appeared in the Top 20 of the UK single charts at any point from January 1 2012 to December 31 2012.
- Of those, songs released in 2011 have been removed.
- The top ten songs from best-of-2012 lists as published by the NME, Pitchfork, Billboard, the Guardian, VH1 and Rolling Stone (so long as they don't overlap with each other, and aren't already in the chart-picked songs).
So here's how it will work..
Round 1: Out of the top 185, each member will choose their favorite TEN songs and reply with their the list. The 100 songs that get the most votes will move onto Round 2.
Round 2: Out of the Top 100, each member will choose their TEN least favorite songs and reply with their list. The 75 songs with the least number of votes will move onto round 3.
Round 3: Out of the Top 75, each member will choose their FIVE favorite songs and reply with their the list. The 50 songs with the most votes will move onto Round 4.
Round 4: Out of the Top 50, each member will choose their FIVE least favorite songs and reply with their the list. The songs with the least number of votes will move onto Round 5.
Round 5: Will be made up as I go along because it's very difficult to stick to convenient numbers, and we managed quite nicely doing that last year
