Video Ad on there [The advertising watchdog has cleared Asda's festive TV campaign featuring an exhausted mother doing all the work to make Christmas a success, despite more than 600 complaints it was offensive and sexist.] Well Done AsdaWalmart. There is Mum and there is Asda. Life In The Fast Lane Last edited by arista; 30-01-2013 at 11:25 AM. |

Quite a true advert I'd say, apart from the Christmas tree bit which is a man's job

Isn't it usually the case though, that it's the women that want everything to be just perfect for Christmas, and that men would quite happily buy and wrap everything at the last minute? I mean, when you walk around the shops at Christmas, it's not exactly packed with men fiddling around with all the fripperies that have become essential items at Christmas because it's women who buy them. When was the last time a straight man bought a packet of glittery table confetti, or a set of matching Christmas napkin rings?

Yeah me too... did all my shopping online. Can't stand schlepping round the shops with the parking and the bags and the crowds... but you know where I was going with that, right? Mostly, it's women buying all the crap, including trolleys full of food, half of which will end up in the bin.

If it was up to me Christmas would be cancelled altogether and we'd all just go to the pub.

men in genral and on average work longer and harder in their jobs they hand over their wages to mumsie who may also work but who also does the shopping and spends more time with the kids on average....women have the vast majority of spending power as far as i can see...but this drivel about men being lazy is disgusting. they just dont buy into buying happiness in shops. the majority of women i know seem to see shopping as an enjoyable social experience. they could quite easily cancel it all and simply get it ordered online. but they choose to do it often then complain about it?
