a quiet place
the guy next to me kept on ****ing talking and waving his hands around even though he went alone and I didn't know him?? so that made me enjoy it less but the films incredible and one of the better horror films out at the moment. the sound design is utterly gorgeous and id highly recommend it 8.5/10

A Quiet Place (2018)
9/10 > the beginning scared the sh*t out of me because I didn't now what expect as I saw no trailers for the film before hand, but the scares faded a little as the film went on till great tho, pretty sure a sequel will happen

Decoys 2: Alien Seduction (2007)
8/10 > almost as good as the first but a couple flaws annoyed me them being > how did Luke get out of the situation at the end of the first film and what happened to Alex? and how is Constance alive when he clearly got a flamethrower from Luke and she exploded? if she was a descendant then why didn't Lily reappear as well?

Interstellar (2014)
4/10 > what a boring film ZZZZ the last hour was good but it's the case of too little too late

The Chronicles Of Narnia 3: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader (2010)
8/10 > better than the second but joint best if not slightly better than the first also it was much shorter in the run time so I wasn't bored and it flowed better, Aslan again wasn't in the film much which is disappointing also two of the main four cast were either not in the film much or were completely absent

The Family Stone (2005)
7/10 > another film I haven't seen in over a decade still holds up well and still funny in places, should have re watched this in December really

The Autopsy Of Jane Doe

Wow, wow, wow!! I wasn't expecting much before watching this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Tbh I expected it to be a run-of-the-mill paranormal movie, but it was far from it. I always prefer a small cast in a horror movie as it allows you to become more invested in the characters and the storyline, and that's definitely the case for this film. The less known about it the better, as whatever expectations you have before watching, will probably be topped. A must watch, if you love a proper horror that has a good balance of story telling, character development, frights and gore.

9/10

..The Dark Tower...it really was quite flat for me, didn’t really come together at all...it wasn’t the storyline ...and Matthew and Idris should have been enough to make a great movie...but they just weren’t for some reason...the movie took their greatness away rather than their greatness adding to the movie...odd...4/10...

The Dark Tower is like a 7-part book series and it was originally supposed to be something like a 3-part movie alongside a television series... but it all kind of got abandonned / production problems and they turned the scraps into one movie (which is a complete mess).

So that's the explanation for something that seems like it SHOULD be good on paper, and has the star power to back it up, actually turning out to be confusing and crap .

The Fog (2005)
9/10 > strongly disagree with all the negative reception this remake got at the time and still do, is it really that bad? far from it IMO but most people will still think it's crap because they keep comparing it to the original, it had a few scares here and there throughout that made me jump

Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief (2010)
7/10 > good but it drags in some scenes which makes the film seem much longer than it is, hope the second one is better

Bewitched (2005)
6/10 > never saw the TV series but the film was alright I guess, bit disappointed that the cat didn't feature or do much other than being cute also Will Ferrell is annoying in this

"Peter Rabbit"

Legitimately a movie about an uptight guy trying to get his end away whilst beating the sh*t out of a rabbit.

10/10 he also tries to blow them up.

Infinity War

Mixed feelings about it tbh.

I'mma spoil everything in the spoiler tags so you've been warned.

Spoiler:

I think I'll love this film in a year's time when Part 2 comes out because this film felt quite incomplete and that impacted my enjoyment of the film since I wasn't expecting 3 and 4 to be so heavily connected as they said it wouldn't.

That being said, I really liked what was in the film but my only other major complaint was that they split the cast up too much and nobody really got much of a spotlight for it aside from Thanos who I thought was fantastic. It says a lot when the writers make you feel sympathetic for a genocidal maniac and even understand his goals and see where he's coming from, I'm not keen on the fact they killed Gamora to do that though but I did find their storyline quite moving. I actually like MCU Thanos way better than Comic Thanos.

As for the ending, I loved it, it's daring (even though you'll know they'll reverse the Gauntlet's effect as Thanos made a point of saying that half of the universe would be erased, not specifically killed) and Peter fading away while Tony could do nothing but watch honestly broke my heart although I knew they would reverse it.

Oh and Loki is not dead, I didn't buy his death for a second. I think Thanos killed one of his doubles and Loki will be back in Avengers 4, it's such a dumb badly written death otherwise. Everyone else who didn't die because of the Gauntlet is dead and gone I think and a few that did won't come back, I expect or will come back to be killed in the final battle against Thanos (Bucky, i'm looking at you). Scarlet Witch will definitely be back, it's quite obvious that she will be the key to bringing the X-Men into the MCU when Disney's takeover of Fox goes through, They'll do a House of M storyline where she becomes increasingly unbalanced because of what happened in Infinity War to the point that she uses her powers to create an idealised world in which everything is kind of ****ed up. They'll fix it but since reality has been changed too many times, things won't be the same, hence mutants.

Loved how funny it was too, Okoye and Drax made me cackle.

8/10

Black Panther and Winter Soldier remain unbothered.

I've not seen it yet so I'm not touching the spoiler, but for the last part...

... So, I saw Black Panther finally and... While it's good - certainly "top tier" Marvel - I sort of feel like it's... Gulp... Over-rated? At the very least I rank Winter Soldier, Ragnarok, Guardians 1 and Avengers 1 above it. Probably also Cap 1 tbh. With Winter Soldier still in a separate league.

The villain was a great character. Until the final act. Which is where my real problem lies. They turned the only legitimately "black character" into a cartoon villain... The Wakandans are black in terms of ethnicity, sure, but they're technologically advanced isolationist who have no idea what it is to be "black people in a white world" - or in other words - the villain is basically right about them - and they beat him down . I don't get how it's empowering. Black Panther himself is, for all intents and purposes, a privileged white guy who happens to have dark skin. Most Wakandans are!

It is however exceptionally well acted, and gorgeous to look at. Though the action / choreography is frankly only OK where Winter Soldier is flawless...
