Deadpool - 9/10
Amazing film, I love the comedy side to it, Wouldn't think it would work since it was a Marvel movie but it actually did.

Crank 1 and 2:
Both action masterpieces. Maybe 1 was somewhat better than 2. So 4.0/5 to 1st movie. 3.75/5 to the sequel. |

Dark Knight Rising - Fine movie, but i liked The Dark Knight more. Bane as villain wasn´t that convincing. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman however was dope. Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne was stellar as always. Gary Oldman as Gordon is one of the best castings ever. 3.65/5

Watched a lot recently without the distraction of the internet at home.
Zoolander 2 - just awful. It made me appreciate anchorman 2 a hell of a lot more because whilst that was still a bit stretched and trying desperately to rehash the same jokes, at least it had some jokes. This movie was just a cameo circle jerk and absolutely none of them pay off. The one LOL moment for me was by a cameo that doesn't even appear: Malala. But it's just a horrible horrible mistake and a chore to watch. A 2/10 just for malala and just for Kiefer Sutherland's residual "why the hell did I sign up for this?" attitude. Foxcatcher - super creepy, incredibly bleak and depressing in its tone and fantastically acted. I'd give it an 8 out of 10 just because the latter half dragged a bit and the dissolution between DuPont and (was it Mark?) seemed a little thin and sudden. I didn't know about the true events it depicts but Steve Carell sold the isolated, spoilt loner perfectly and I couldn't help but pick up on the homoeroticism The Martian - best movie I've seen in a long long time. I loved Moon, and loved Gravity, and this is the perfect middle ground between those. It's great popcorn entertainment but also super personal and fulfilling. The ending mission is one of the most gripping things I've seen in film in my life, and I actually shed a tear over his crew's decision to go back and try to save him. Brilliant movie and I'd never really been a fan of Damon. 10/10 I did watch another but I've forgotten it...

Ah it was Ant-Man. Really enjoyed that which is odd since I've completely gone off marvel movies because of their tedious wisecracking ass hole characters / Robert Downey Jr in general. Paul Rudd is actually a comedian though and it just works, plus Michael Douglas is a great mentor and has done some great movies recently (loved him in Behind the Candelabra). I'd give it an 8.

..Chappie...the worst thing about this movie is Hugh Jackman's hairstyle..the best thing about it is obviously Chappie......I loved it../..I loved Chappie..even the gang with his 'mom' and 'dad' were endearing and the final scenes were very gripping...(I love the whole idea that our consciousness would be put into robot bodies when we die...)...I somehow drew comparisons with this movie and Beasts of No Nation and Chappie being the innocent child...
...anyways, a perfect blend or adorability, feel good, moral story and action so a very enjoyable 8/10...... |

Creed - Great movie. Shows Stallone/Balboa in a different kind of role, which he did well. It also proved that Stallone can actually act, when he wants to. 4.15/5

..oh snap, Cald...
..Creed...very much in the same vein as all other Rocky movies so nothing not to love, really...I loved Sly Stallone in the 'Mickey' type role as the trainer and mentor and Michael B Jordan was perfectly cast as Apollo's son, Adonis Johnson...Tessa Thompson is also beautiful and delightful as Bianca.....a great re-vitalisation of the Rocky series of movies...8/10... |

..Miracles From Heaven...I'm not sure that this would have been so much my type of movie, had it not been a true story but it's quite an astonishing story which is what makes it so great and such a feel good film...a 10yr old girl has an incurable rare digestive illness, her prognosis is hopeless and she lives each moment of her days in extreme pain...then just as she's giving up on life and finding the thought of death, something she is hoping will happen soon...a freak accident that should have killed her, causes her illness to completely be cured...with no medical explanation at all and she insists that through her accident, she 'spoke to God'...so a 'miracle'...?...
...a stunning performance from Jennifer Garner, who pretty much carries the movie with her performance as Anna's mother and just very, very delightful and uplifting..also a nice touch at the end to show the real Anna and her family...8/10.... |

Mad Max: Fury Road - Pretty awesome, considering i was afraid they´d ruin this somehow. Great action all around, fairly good acting, fine enough story. Recommended. 4.05/5

Batman V's Superman - It was only ok, doesn't compare to the Marvel films imo, I think the biggest thing lacking for me over any of the Marvel super hero movies is humour 5/10

..Race (2016)...hmmmm, I'm not sure how to rate this one because I feel as though it stepped back quite a bit from being as powerful as it could have been...the scenes with Jesse Owens competing and his magnificence as an athlete were just too short, I felt...and the rise of Nazism in Germany didn't really hit the sinister mark enough...but then, as was said many times through the movie..did it at the time really feel that far removed from racism in the USA...
Spoiler: ..a great cast, especially obviously Stephan James as Jessie...and Jason Sudeikis is very endearing as his coach also..anyways, although the storyline seemed to race along a little too quickly for me, it was still thoroughly absorbing so maybe around a 7-8/10-ish.... |

Silver linings playbook. J Law and Bradley Cooper. 2 of the most overrated people of all time. They bore me to tears. Can't believe she won an Oscar for this.

The Conjuring 2.
Really good. It had quite a few moments that had me jumping and was honestly one of the better horror films I've seen in recent years.
