Default School Burnt Down Just Days Before New Term Begins...

Quote:
Firefighters are battling a fire that broke out at St. Mary’s Catholic Technology College in Leyland in England on September 1.

Residents of Leyland told the Lancashire Evening Post that they saw huge plumes of smoke hanging above the town after the fire began on Sunday afternoon.

Five boys, aged between 11 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of arson, according to the Lancashire Police.

Area residents were advised to shut windows and some were leaving the area.

The Lancashire Fire Service said that it has 20 fire engines on the scene and is putting around 90,000 liters of water an hour on the fire.

“We expect to be here for most of the night,” the service said via Twitter. “Foam boards in the roof and builders materials have added to the fire load making it difficult.”

Quite shocking! And it's extremely close to where I live too!

The lengths kids will go to to avoid going back to school... and I'm not even joking, that's exactly what it sounds like

Feel sorry for all the Year 11s who's coursework has probably been burned down and they'll have to be sent to different schools during their final exams year.

An 11 year old (Yr 6 due to start at this high school as a Yr 7), a 12 year old, two 13 year olds and a 15 year old (who was excluded from this high school back in Yr 7) apparently were all creating fires near a field.

Not quite sure how it burnt the school but I read it had something to do with abandoned construction tools near the school and the group of lads burning stuff in a nearby field. Somehow it started in the science lab. I'm guessing they got the construction tools and smashed the window open and then started messing around with the gas.
