..yeah and I don't even think 'sex sells' either because I think with BB, you need some kind of substance as well and there just isn't any atm...but was there ever any in the celebrity one..?..I much prefer civilian BB...

Yes there was some nudity in early BB's but none of it was planned by the producers or scripted like it seems to be these days, hand cuffing Lee to glamour model Casey, you telling me BB didn't plan for this BS we are getting now?

In the early BB's on c4 everything that happened was natural and the HM's were genuinely nobody's before they went in, it truly was a reality TV show back then, it isn't anymore, it's turning into a semi scripted show like TOWIE, and going down market too.

Personally i think this CBB has started very well,It's one of the better ones so far,Just hope we're not left with Lionel,Ollie,Sam and Evander borefest toward the end.This series has potential if it stays as strong as it's started,I think VTS will be very good for this series hopefully!

its getting the highest ratings I think of the ones that have been done on Channel 5. I heard that Channel 4 are KICKING themselves. Once it came back on any channel I was happy I would have missed it if it had really finished

It's what happens when a TV concept becomes established though - the initial element of the unknown quickly disappears once all of the possible variables are exposed through trial and error (i.e. BB1-BB7) and every series thereafter is just a retread of old territory with people auditioning for it knowing that they have to act in a certain way in order to get through. Just as The X Factor has upped the sob stories and stopped producing stars; Big Brother has slid down the pan too.

I do wish we had more stimulating housemates to watch - I'm not expecting a house full of Derek Lauds but some brain cells to match the soft core porn would be nice.

..yeah, it's not that it doesn't need the drama etc and to cause controversy and 'shock' to some extent, it's just that there is no balance to it and I think there has to be that in everything otherwise it all becomes same old, same old and just burns itself out...and I know it's the same old thing but I do think it's because of the lack of livefeed which used to give us 'the normal bits' and the normal conversations etc...the rest of it is probably no different to what it always was but it just seems more and very much one thing because that's all we're shown...

I do appreciate what you are saying VS, and tbf the showmances are getting very irksome, I don't even know why the HMs go for them because no one involved in a showmance has ever won. I guess they just can't resist the camera time? Having said that BB has had to move on, with the number of other reality shows it couldn't stay true to the original format and we do get glimpses every now again.
