Default Interesting look at re-building BB house

So we all know that the entire back end of the Big Brother house was teared down at the end of Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack in 2008. Since then & after BB9, the house shape, layout and more predominantly, garden shape has become rather stagnant. Below is an interesting article I found from house designer Patrick Watson from back in 2008, and a comparison of two aerial pictures of the house - one from 2006 (BB7 and before the re-build) and one from BB12 (2011).

AERIAL PICS IN SPOILER TAGS:

Spoiler:

So the house is actually far smaller since they removed the back half (you can see it's alot shorter) - only replacing some of the space with modular steel boxes, which is also the reason why the garden has stayed the same shape. The sloped edge was cut back, giving less shape to the house, less room for a garden and less options for different layouts.

Interesting read. The first thing I noticed was how small the original structure is now. The new structure at the back really does limit the change to the garden too.

Wish they'd build it back to how it was.

I wish they moved location to be honest. The show could do with a fresh slate.

I agree. They could do so much if they had a bigger space to work with.

So people saying they cant change the outside layout due to the fence? That fence was there in 2006. Its the same space.

I think they need to deal with the outdoor eviction area before they start to do anything with the house.

Tbh I think when we look at the latest house since BB14 it shows that they can create a pretty big house with what they have. The BB14 design onwards has felt very much on par with house designs like BB7 and BB9 (in my opinion of course).

The first BB house was nothing special, if I recall.
