A couple of things you should be concerned about if he does get the job.

1) This off season is gonna be vital for you bringing players in, pre season training bringing the confidence back to the players that have evidently lost it. Van Gaal's main priority this off season is managing at the World Cup.

2) When the season gets underway he'll be 63 years old, while short term that's not a major concern, long term it is for the stability of the club. In two years time are you gonna be looking to change the Manager again? which will bring a different philosophy and another overhaul in players.

Club has already been doing deals.

Van Gaal may last a few years. The way management is nowadays pretty much every club changes managers every few years. A hope would be Van Gaal comes in for a few years and then Klopp as his contract could be up around the time Van Gaal may decide to call it a day.

True on point one, but I think he developed a wish list for weeks now (he was waiting for Moyes sacking tbh). He'll let the board pursue the transfers.

Well the first point you make is disturbing, why would you be doing deals with players which may not fit in to the plans of an incoming manager?

You say every club changes managers every few years nowadays, that may be true, but how many clubs nowadays are having continued success year on year, you know the way you did when you had stability? I bet you could count them clubs on one hand.

Happens at numerous top clubs. And if MEN are to be believed, Van Gaal has been informed of planned purchases.

Well, whilst I don't agree with most of Roman's sackings, he's still had success at Chelsea. But yeah, off the top of my head not many top clubs have had success year on year. Although, that's the way things go nowadays really.

Unless the tripe is removed from the team it really doesn't matter who is our manager. Clev Ashley Tony and Fatty all need to be shown the door with Mata Shinji and Adnan being the foundation we build around. As i said in another thread if Fatty ain't willing to be a fat white ji sung and do the dirty work on big away nights he is of no use to us

Apparently, the contract is signed and an announcement is imminent.

I really like Man Utd but even if this is the new Manager, I fear they have a few x seasons coming up.
There is some bad feeling I think at the club, some players don't pull their weight.
I fear they may have a number of seasons where they struggle to do exceptionally well.

They will always do good and rightly so but that is not enough for Man Utd, especially since the Premier League came into being.
I fear they may have manager after manager for a time and that will increase the instability not help it.

I would guess David Moyes is sad that he left Everton now. He was on a pretty good thing there and without the pressure of always being among the top 4 at the very least.
There is no Alex Ferguson on the horizon for Man Utd anywhere that I can see.

Fergie was a one off. The club were ridiculous to think Moyes would come in and do another Fergie, stay for years and be successful.

Total football is here. There isn't a better manager to come for a couple years and lay the foundation for success. Look at Bayern and Barca. They both owe a lot to him even if they parted on bad terms.
