i've been thinking about the reports of housemates being 'allowed access to social media' and the ways housemates can use them..
1. Housemates are allowed to tweet thoughts about other housemates but are not allowed to read replies or what other housemates have tweeted. 2. They use it in the same way they did in BB14 where the public get to ask housemates questions. 3. Within the house there is a screen constantly updating with 'tweets' but the tweets are fake and created by viewers/BBots audience either that or created by producers How do you think producers will use Twitter in this series of BB? whatever they mean about the use of social media, i dont think it's needed however i just think the show is trying to do something new and fresh. I'm choosing to trust the producers so dear producers..

Good ideas. I definitely think it will be filtered, I HIGHLY doubt they'd just be able to "use Twitter" and do what they like. It'll be a very concentrated, stripped down, altered app imo.
Like idea 3 alot! Like a scrolling screen on 24/7. Last edited by LaLaLand; 31-05-2014 at 08:35 PM. |

Tweeting their thoughts on housemates is exactly the same as going to the diary room and expressing their opinions though isnt it?

it's better than giving them an iPad and just letting them look at tweets

Yeah i would much prefer the ideas you put in the OP to having them looking through tweets from the public.
If housemates somehow were given an ipad each which only allowed them to tweet but not read tweets so they could kind of keep a diary and update viewers via twitter 24/7 with tweets/photos etc from inside the house that would be kind of interesting & cool. Technically the social media version of live feed. Last edited by Drew.; 31-05-2014 at 11:14 PM. |

My view of the social media aspect:
The Head of House (or the person/people with power) will get access to an iPad. This iPad will act as a similar way to the HoH in US BB, where they can make a blog/upload photos from this iPad. It will be extremely restricted in the fact that they won't be able to communicate with people from the outside. I believe that they will be able to read filtered tweet feed on a screen in their private HoH quarters. These will be moderated/filtered by BB staff in the sense that they won't give away other housemates' conversations/nominations, but will give an indication as to the general view of other housemates. The HoH should also be able to use the iPad and be the only person to control the shopping budget (+ a separate HoH bonus budget to spend on things they want for themselves). If they did give everybody a device, it would be cool to restrict the devices so that housemates can use them to communicate with each other, and the messaging bubbles appeared on the TV screens as they were sent in the highlights show. However, that's probably overkill and would reduce the show to seeing a bunch of people sitting texting each other! |

I just hope that it doesn't involve housemates knowing who the public favourite is, who the public hate and (if there is a divide) which side the public prefers.

It wouldn't be as good as life feed but it would be the next best thing

The amount of diary room moments is pretty limited on the show. We could get more information if tweeting was there as well (ie: stuff that BB cuts from the shows and we end up missing out on).

No this is dumb. If housemates can tweet what they feel they would feel less incline to go to the diary too. I think they should be encouraging housemates to use the diary room more.

I really like the idea of them being able to message each other - also gives BB a chance to give them secret missions if they all have a device of some kind.

I like the idea of them being able to tweet out pictures or text, but not see anything incoming. I'd limit it though so it's not just them constantly on a phone, maybe limit it to 5 each per day or something.
