Eh, that's not too big a drop from the 1.6 averages of 2011 and 2012. As long as next year's doesn't fall to something ridiculous like 1.2, they'll be okay

Problem is because of the fact it's in the 1m+ range, a drop of 300k is very noticeable. If it had been averaging 2m plus every year, it wouldn't have been much of an issue.

And rightly so. This better wake them up and make them realise changes need to be made.

LOL hardly. I'd argue it was overhyped in many ways for the "drama" and tention.
As someone who's watched since the first series (except for BB4), this is by a mile the worst. I heard 4 was boring but i cant attest to that. However this series was painful to get through. The winner wasnt any help and prob why most tuned out, cause they wanted her gone week 2.

The show would do better if they stopped trying to force drama into it. I can't really remember anything fun happening this series. It was just bitching constantly because they filled the house with people with big attitude problems. The people without the big attitudes were just underwhelming and overshadowed by the bitches.
I wish they'd return to the old days where they put a bunch of weirdos and normal people in the house that weren't looking to be singers or movie starts. |

I'm not making excuses, this year the production team made awful mistakes, but it would of done a little better without the sporting events

Well it's a bit of a coincidence that the two least watched series' of Big Brother just so happen to clash with two of the world's biggest televised sporting events. I know there's been the World Cup/Olympics all the way through Big Brother's run on television but it's no secret that Big Brother is a lot less popular than it once was, with people who were once big fans of the show now looking down on it, so the smaller the fanbase is, the more its going to be affected by these events.
For example, the soaps are still a major part of British television and are still popular, and even though they are dented by sporting events they still manage 5 million+ viewers, even though their averages are 7/8 million a night. Big Brother averages 1.5-2 million so when it's dented and is going down to 700/800 k it seems a lot worse. |
