Emma Willis is to leave her role as main presenter of Celebrity Big Brother spin-off Bit On The Side after almost three and a half years, bbspy can confirm.

Tonight’s edition of the magazine show will be the last to be fronted by the 38-year-old, and Rylan Clark will take over with immediate effect.

Rylan is slated to host the remaining four episodes of the current series, and bbspy understands that he will become the sole presenter of BOTS when it returns alongside Big Brother’s sixteenth civilian run this summer.

However, Emma will continue to host the main show – including launches, evictions and finales – and it is expected that she’ll still make weekly guest appearances on BOTS.

No reason has been given for the move, though it is believed to be due to Emma’s workload, with her profile having skyrocketed since she became the face of the main show.

Just five months after she replaced Brian Dowling, BBC One hired her for The Voice UK – and the last month the broadcaster announced that she will team up with Reggie Yates on new gameshow Prized Apart.

I guess this is to do with Reality Bites starting this Thursday. It's a shame. Emma is the stronger presenter and I always prefer her editions of BOTS.

Doubt I will bother watching BOTS at all now, hope they bring someone in like Matt Johnson for the summer to present it. I somehow don't think Rylan on it every night will work well all summer.

We were told this on Friday, it's pretty sad but I don't watch BOTS so it doesn't affect me really.

I just worry that she will end up leaving as the main host, that would be horrible.

That's a shame I do prefer Emma on BOTS to Rylan (despite liking Rylan in the CBB series) I have never really been a massive fan of BBots ..maybe I am biased as I sill miss Dermy BBLB

Yeah I'd also like Matt Johnson to get half of the shows as well, I don't dislike Rylan at all and he's moulded himself into a pretty competent presenter, it's just that this was Emma's show like BBLB was Dermot's and her episodes were always more enjoyable. I don't like the idea of it becoming solely Rylan's

Isn't tonight's BOTS a double hander anyway? I'm going to be really pissed off if she doesn't have a normal proper last send off episode on her own, tonight's is going to be too busy with all what's been going on

This news reminds me of that VT they put together for her for like her 500th episode last summer or something and she cried

It never made much sense to me to have separate presenters of BOTS. Personally, I prefer Emma, but Rylans fine too. I remember his first BOTS. He looked very nervous and hesitant, and I thought he wouldn't last long in the job. Then the second show was a bit better, and by the third he had settled. Good on you, Rylan. You stuck with it and you deserve sole presentation rights.

This news does not surprise me, she has looked quite tired and a bit disinterested of late, as I had already said near the start of this CBB. Juggling family life with such a heavy workload can't be easy, she looked like she needed to step back from some of that workload. It also wouldn't surprise we if this was a step towards moving away from BB altogether for her soon.

I barely watch BOTS anyway, and even when I do I like Rylan so this doesn't at all bother me.

I'm just glad she's still hosting the main show.

Shame but as she has so many other commitments plus a young family, I guess it was inevitable. Hope she stays on the main show though....and gets a bit tougher in interviews
