It's all bollocks. I've said since the moment David Cameron resigned that we should have had an all party coalition as we did during the war, everyone should have united in negotiating Brexit to try and get the best out of it. Instead we've had a Tory government with no idea what the heck to do, an opposition equally unwilling to work with them and pursuing their own party goals instead, the parliament summer recess which I thought was utterly ridiculous given how close Brexit now is. What happened to our British hard working spirit? We used to unite in hard times and work together to pull through.

Triumph of the Weird

That graphic attached to the headline suggesting people "turning their back" on May when she is in the forefront is some pretty weak tea... if anything, they turned their back and she is teasing the viewer? ... while under the sun in a red dress no less... (I'm just criticizing the way the photo was juxtaposed with that one headline, you can ignore me... )
I don't know have much thought on this development(s). It just seems like Brexit will continue to be dragged out. Really no different than the frustration we experience on a daily basis from the lack of accountability in our Congress on a variety of issue... I miss when actual governing happened in our Capitol and not just fools pandering in front of television cameras and and stealth trolling on Twitter. |

it is a really huge positive thing the brexit, with UK no longer in that messy EU
i had seen the EU meeting last week, well it's just lots of shouting at each other, and Hungary again getting sanctions, Orban proving to have a bit of a dictator in him and it was mostly talk about economy and refugees

[EU leaders have insisted a Brexit deal remains possible
despite flatly rejecting the Chequers proposal put forward by Theresa May during an acrimonious summit in Salzburg. The prime minister endured a brutal reception from the national newspapers upon her return to London, with her treatment in the Austrian city widely seen as a "humiliation".] https://news.sky.com/story/eu-tells-...ction-11504825 Sack Ollie Robbins the Stupid Civil Servant that did her stupid plan. No 2nd Vote. So shut the feck up you remoaners. And all that are now old enough to vote you get your Turn when you are older Also a 2nd Vote for the Labour Party is for a General Election Life In The City Last edited by arista; 22-09-2018 at 08:59 AM. |

There has been many insutling comment's coming from both sides...but as an Irish/South African and considering all we have come through......this is the first time after the troubles /Apartheid when I know this isn't going to end well... |

of yesterdays Rage. I think Macron in France is wrong to speak on our internal battles. He is now Hated more than Trump is. My Own View has not changed we are leaving the EU as it was a democratic vote in 2016. |

I don't see why anyone is surprised by the behaviour of the EU toward Britain. It's that intransigence that forced many to vote for Brexit in the first place.

No The Papers are not my view. It is true Trump has more Support in his own nation, and now Macron has upset the Farmers and so many workers in France he is hated more. Euronews Ch 6PM show showed the numbers, last week I was amazed as he was doing so well. Its a Great 6PM Euronews show with presenters and a former skynews reporter I used to have Wolf on CNNHD at 6PM, but they got rid of his show. I also have FoxNewsHD live on one my desktop computers Last edited by arista; 27-09-2018 at 03:38 PM. |

That does not reflect the feeling on the ground..... It's over 2yrs since the Brexit vote and the general feeling here in Ireland is that we have have been insulted by the Uk. I don't beleive Theresa May is calling the shot's on this Island. Arlene Foster is Again it will not end well when that corupt bint is calling the shot's for Ireland |

May was a Utter Fool to trust Civil Servant Ollie Robbins his white paper is no good. So a Modified paper being done right now But that no good worker O.Robbins is as the bad as the 2 feckers ,she fired, who advised her to call a Snap Election in 2017. |

Triumph of the Weird

The cable networks (the trashiest of journalism here imo) effectively operate as wings of the Democratic/Republican platform, so they are good to watch if we want to know the latest spin.... but that's about it. I rarely watch cable news now and I know very few people who do anymore. I think Fox is the highest rated, but it only gets 2-3 million... which isn't much. Cable is struggling here because of the cord-cutters... but a lot of registered voters (especially the older crowd) still watch cable news, so at least for now they are relevant because they are still seen as a "direct line" to the party platform/base.
I like that arista gives us the front page of things (variety is good ), because 1) I don't have access to that myself here and 2) It's interesting to see what different media are writing on a topic... it doesn't have to line with our own view to be "news-worthy". I work in a communications field for living, and I feel if that person is a business-type person, it pays loads to know what the "talk" on the street is... these headlines are being read by millions and millions of people... so through interest, it's generating more of the same and obviously someone reads it... I read a lot of propaganda on both sides, admittedly, and it's been very telling to see what is drawing in the most passionate views. Says a lot about the condition of discourse in this country.... though, my opinion, of all the sources, the worst one for awareness is social media... it's algorithm-based, tracks your search history both on site and off (thanks Google) and produces a pseudo-echo-chamber meant to keep people clicking... if I wanted to preserve my own thoughts on things, that's the one I would drop... propaganda gets repetitive after a while and then it starts to parody satire... but social media is more insidious with (edit) how it treats our information, encourages our dependence on it and will show/display data based on past behavior... I also changed my search provider from Google to something that doesn't track... and I get a much more diverse selection of media, including things that are not necessarily "trending". So I see opinions I would not have seen before, including on topics that are not often discoursed. Google was very much giving me mostly one view and pushing those to the top of the stack... so much so, I will not use it for news ever again. I actually run my own RSS server so I can pull from different sources at the same time instead of going for a wild-goose hunt... very easy to get an RSS feed these days with how many sites are dependent on Wordpress and it's just a matter of editing the url a little bit...
