this...the so called wannabe politician...can't make a decision - was up and ready to 'carry' the motion tho...even tho it was Sam herself that suggested it and he 'carried' it. couldn't wait to do it either. slimy

I'm going to say 'cowardly'. I just don't buy the idea that Joel is super-intelligent and calculating. I think he'd like to think he is, and works hard to portray himself as intelligent to a house full of airheads. Compared to them, he actually looks intelligent.

He did make a decision though.
He decided to stand himself up as a person of integrity by copping out and making all the rest of them look like the bad guys. He's by no means anywhere near as intelligent as he and his mother like to portray, he is however extremely sly.

Bang on...i agree with you...nothing he has ever done is cowardly, why start now ?...the first one to stand up to Show Biz, the one who went against the crowd to support Marc and the only one who wasn't scared of Helen...when he refused to give Sam a killer eviction it was not cowardly...it wasn't brave either because he wasn't one bit scared to stick to his principles...it was just honest....it was also a smart move

The answer is: from their beak, of course.

And people who say he needed to make a decision if he's gonna be in politics must be impaired somehow because he did make a decision....his decision was to vote against it...he was the first to make a decision and he stuck to it....while all the other were dithering around the problem he stood firm and was ready to force BB into being honest instead....if the others had backed his decision it would have been very interesting indeed...maybe Chloe or Jack wouldn't now be in the final....NO WAY WAS HE A COWARD

Wow... I don't know which is more ****ed up, thinking it comes out of its neck or thinking it comes out of it's arse. At least Chloe's quite open about being thick.

Thanks for that, y.winter.

calculated, always looking to do "the right thing" to supporth is politics cliche.
all of his hand gestures and his choice of words are just so fabricated - play a Katy Perry into the house and see his real self slipping under that facade.

Abstention is not a decision, it's the refusal to make a decision.

Oh yes it is...if the decision your being forced to make is wrong...some of the none decisions you call abstention are the none decisions that won us the war...and judging from the back lash from viewers about how unjust Sams eviction was he was clearly right to react the way he did..if for no other reason than to further increase his chances of winning the game by sharing the popular point of view of the public....but for some reason people will not give credit where its due and say he's a coward instead.

he didn't tho.....if he wanted to not take part he should have sat down and kept his mouth shut, instead of taking charge and delivering the news and this 'carried' nonsense. he's a bit of a plonker. hopefully he will grow up, tell mumsy he's leaving home and cop on. he's very very sly tho - does he have any friends i wonder..why is mumsy always on the bb programme -surely one of his friends could back him.

Indeed clearly not nearly as intelligent as he believes he is. His calculation was that there would be one nice guy and three nasty guys and he also calculated that he could sell himself afterwards as principled, in fact I'd go so far as to speculate that he still thinks even after that, that he will leave people with that impression.

Ermmmmmm, he did take part, he said he didn't want Chloe to go, he hardly abstained.
Just made a big fuss of nothing to be honest, tried to look the big man but failed dismally in my eyes.

yes...forgot that bit

I refuse to take part but I don't want chloe to go.... I also want to deliver the bad news. I will also just takes Sam's option (sam said, its okay guys vote me) and I will carry Sams motion, regardless of the fact that sam wasn't asked to vote.

Of course he took part by voicing his opinion about Chloe and also ushering the others in their decision, he used his words and phrases to distract from his participation and depict himself as noble whilst behaving most ignobly. Even delivering his "it wasn't me sir it was them" plea to the camera. So many contradictions in just one small clip. His mask and gameplan exposed multiple times.

He said he wouldn't get involved then was the first to say Chloe should stay he tried and failed at being impartial

How was it honest? He stated clearly he would NOT take part in a killer nomination and immediately took part in a killer nomination. Which was the honest thing to do? They cannot both be.
