"So are you still enjoying working at the bank then?"

"Actually, the bank closed down. Now I make chicken nuggets and McFlurries for kids to keep them going while they use the local Pokestop. But don't worry - I'm going for regional manager! There are only 5000 other people in my exact position going for the same job, so I like my chances!"

Would also point out that the company I work for - although clearly smaller than McDonald's - hasn't had a new RM position become available for something like 10 to 15 years... Upper level management becomes entrenched. Sure you can "dream" (hah...) but realistically, going into a bigger company as a grunt, the best you can expect is middle management. Woohoo!

Can't view videos (as I'm visiting my sister and her Internet is 0.3mb... Seriously...) but, whether the current McDonald's CEO is young or not, I find it very difficult to believe that he doesn't have a University degree.

Whilst I understand optimism and that it's useful, let's be honest, you have to have realistic expectations. The vest majority of kids going into burger-flipping roles are not even going to become a duty manager, let alone an RM and certainly not CEO. It's simple maths. They employ tens (hundreds?) of thousands of people and there are only a handful of management roles... To say that "everyone" can reach the higher salary levels somewhere like McDonald's is ridiculous.

Whoa! How the hell do you manage to drink it without waiting half-an-hour and taking timid little sips like I do?

The trick is to take the lid off unless you're driving then you have to wait half an hour

I make my own fresh ground coffee at home and it is delicious . McDonald's is bad even for cheap out-and-about coffee! Greggs and Subway are passable, if you MUST drink chain coffee .

/ thread. We've all agreed that McDonald's coffee is awful and that Niamh has no right to call herself a coffee drinker from this day forward.

Rubbish coffee, rubbish food, rubbish jobs! NOT lovin' it.
