Pop star Chris Brown has been arrested at his home following a tense 11-hour stand-off with police, authorities have confirmed.
The singer was held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Los Angeles Police confirmed.
Officers surrounded the singer's home on Tuesday following a pre-dawn 911 call from a woman who claimed he had pointed a gun at her.
Brown, 27, denies any wrongdoing and said on Instagram posts that he had woken up to find police outside and that they would need a warrant to enter the Tarzana property.
LAPD spokesman Lieutenant Chris Ramirez said: "This morning, around three o'clock, officers responded to a radio call for a woman requiring assistance.
"The incident involved the residence of Mr Chris Brown, where officers responded and met with that person."
Police spent hours waiting outside Brown's home before obtaining a search warrant and beginning a search of the sprawling premises in the early afternoon.
An LAPD spokeswoman said the occupants of the home were being interviewed but no arrests had been made. She had no information on whether Brown had been detained.
After being stationed outside the property since the early hours of Tuesday, the singer's entourage began to emerge at around 12:40pm, [PDT] before they were interviewed by police followed by the singer himself two hours later.
Brown left the building at around 2:38pm [PDT] wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and a red hat and looked in good spirits as he spoke to law enforcement and, who is believed to be his lawyer Mark Geragos.
A huge police presence has been at the mansion since early this morning, with the first time arriving at around 3am following reports he threatened a woman with a gun.
It was reported on Tuesday by TMZ that the singer was being investigated on an allegation of criminal assault, after a woman claimed he threatened her with a gun while at an LA residence, prompting her to call 911.
It was previously reported that authorities were waiting for a*search warrant to be granted and were expecting the singer to "surrender" himself.
Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, is believed to have gone into the home at 12:30pm [PDT].
Several people have been seen leaving the property and coming out to the gate, where they've spoken to officers.
From inside the*house, Brown posted a string of videos on Instagram, venting his frustration over the situation.

Soon after images of police outside Brown's house were posted to social media, with the singer then insisting he had done nothing wrong in an expletive laden Instagram video.
Mirror Celeb has contacted Brown's rep for comment.
The woman at the centre of the drama was quickly identified as beauty queen Baylee Curran.
Baylee revealed she had "partied" with Brown in the past and said he had always been "nice".
On Monday night she claims to have gone to his Tarzana mansion where they hungout in a hot tub and were having fun, until she admired a piece of jewellery worn by a member of Brown's crew.
Brown's team have yet to comment publicly on events.

If someone was pointing a gun at Chris Brown when his not posing a threat then I'd like to think that me and many others would complain about it.

Chris Brown has got into trouble in the past with women which doesn't help his case either.

Let's be honest, even if he is guilty, he's not ever going to do any real jail time. I don't even think he's on probation still for Rihanna... he got in trouble for hanging around the wrong crowd and getting into fights, so it seemed like he had backed off on the bad behavior for a while... looks like he is going back to old habits now

Best part of the TMZ interview with the victim is when they asked her if there were any drugs there... her facial reaction was priceless. Tried not to crack a smile. Probably thinking "Well yeah duh, that's why I was there..."

Chris Brown Accuser Text Vowing to 'Set Him Up' Authenticity in Question

The woman who accused Chris Brown of pointing a gun at her allegedly wrote a text message shortly after the incident saying she was going to frame Chris with the gun allegation out of revenge ... but she denies sending any such message.

TMZ has obtained a copy of the text, sent to an acquaintance named Safari -- no relation to Nicki Minaj's ex. The text was purportedly sent Tuesday at 2:57 AM, shortly after Baylee Curran was kicked out of Chris' house. It reads:

"Hey safari don't you know this freak Chris brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend jewelry fake can you come get me my Uber is messing up if not I'm going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson I'm going to set his ass up. Lol come get me."

He responded, "Really that's ******* up you ain't going to do that your wrong if you do."

We've learned the alleged text is in possession of Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, who's trying to authenticate it.

Here's what's interesting. She refers to an Uber "messing up." We've learned the guy who picked her up from Chris' house first called for a Lyft to pick her up but when the driver showed, she was hiding under a car, so the Lyft driver left. How would Safari know that?

On the other hand, there's reason to doubt the text. We spoke with Safari, who says Baylee stole his Rolex last year and he hasn't spoken with her since. Why would she text a guy she hasn't spoken to in nearly a year and ask him to pick her up? He also would have a motive to lie since he accused her of stealing ... something she denies.

Brown's accuser, Baylee Curran, was on "TMZ Live" Tuesday and when we asked about drug use she got very nervous and wouldn't answer.

As we reported, during the standoff Chris threw a duffel bag out the window and cops found 2 guns and drugs. His arrest was for felony assault with a deadly weapon ... not drugs.

I'm wondering if he is technically a felon. They are not allowed to carry, but depends on whether or not he did a plea deal. If he isn't, owning the gun will get him in trouble more than the assault case really would though I'm sure it will only compound it.
