Wealthy undergraduates in the capital are splashing out on plush rooms in a posh skyscrapers - for a massive £1,700-a-month. Splurging youngsters 'relying on rich parents' are rejecting traditional student digs to stay in the centre of London for a £20,000 annual price tag. The private rooms, which feature a small double bed, en-suite bathroom, kitchenette and dining area, are located in seven different skyscrapers across the city. Studios in the Aldgate, east London tower block start at £270 a week, but the most expensive offering is the company's couple studio, at £435 a week. It's nice and modern but it's not that luxurious imo, looks cold and those sofas look very uncomfortable.

It's posh and luxurious for student accommodation though Will?

£270 a week for that ain't bad
The Uni nearest me is £100 a week and it's as basic as they get But the fact people are rejecting normal accommodation is a bit frustrating get over yourself and join everyone else

Hmm I guess, although I say it's more modern than luxurious?
EDIT: Actually yeah it's pretty luxurious tbh when comparing it to some hotels, I agree. Last edited by Will.; 05-09-2016 at 05:32 PM. |

It's both, it wouldn't be overly luxurious if they were normal flats but they're student accom.

You can get pretty much the exact same thing in Dundee for < £300 a month
Then again, you're punished by having to live in Dundee... But yeah, most cities have purpose built private halls with communal areas with big flatscreens, double beds, en-suite bathrooms etc. For £3000 - £4000 a year. London is just a freakshow. |

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was about to say it's quite nice until I spotted the oven/microwave is basically 2m away from the bed. Not going to get much sleep with the whole room stinking of bloody supernoodles.

The days of "crappy halls" were more or less over even when I was at Uni and that was 10 years ago now . My halls weren't TOO dissimilar to this, all en-suite double rooms etc, and my private shared house in 3rd / 4th year was the "nicest" house I've lived in so far . I mean yeah the furniture was cheap IKEA crap but the house itself was brand new and immaculate. When we moved in. Heh.

The halls I stayed at for first year were very modern and luxurious. I'm staying at halls again this year and they look pretty similar to the ones pictured above, aside from the fact that I don't have my own kitchen and the living area is much smaller. |

That cushion is £8 at Ikea, I bought my daughter it years ago.
Don't knock Scandinavian design TS the V&A is full of the stuff £270 isn't bad for central London I don't think.
