Default Every boxing judge and referee at Rio Olympics Suspended

Not much good to the boxers who dedicated 4 years of their lives training for that sham though

Every boxing judge and referee at Rio Olympics stood down after controversial decisions

AIBA have confirmed that ALL of the boxing referees and judges that took part in the Rio Olympic Games have been suspended

All 36 boxing judges and referees that took part in Rio have been suspended after a series of controversial decisions during the Olympic games.

The International Boxing Association (AIBA), which sanctions amateur boxing matches, confirmed the news on Thursday.

It comes after Ireland's Michael Conlan was defeated by Vladimir Nikitin by unanimous decision, despite seemingly out-boxing his Russian opponent throughout the fight.

Following the fight, Conlan took aim at amateur boxing in an explosive interview, saying the AIBA is “rotten from the core right to the top” and vowed to “never box under AIBA again”.

The controversy over Conlan’s fight came less than 24 hours after another Russian Evgeny Tishchenko was awarded a gold medal in his bout with Vassiliy Levit – despite the Kazakhstanian appearing to be the unanimous winner.

The boxing body said in a statement: "While the majority of the boxing competition in Rio 2016 was received very positively... a small number of decisions under debate indicated that further reforms in the AIBA R&J (referee and judging) procedures were necessary.

"Initial decisions were made on-site during Rio 2016 to ensure the smooth running of the rest of the competition.

"The results of a specific R&J investigation, currently underway, will allow AIBA to fully assess what action needs to be taken.

"In the meantime, it has been decided that all 36 R&Js that were used at the Olympic Games will not officiate at any AIBA event until the investigation reaches its conclusion, along with further immediate measures adopted by the commissions."

Mid-way through the summer games, AIBA expelled a number of judges and referees due to “decisions that were not at the level expected”, but the results of the bouts still stood.

Good. Some corrupt nonsense went on there

Most of the adjudicating was pretty fair in Rio aside from the boxing and athletics whom just seemed to be very anal about the rules
