The Strictly Come Dancing 2016 final date, times and details have been confirmed as this year's series wraps up.


The BBC has today confirmed that the Strictly Come Dancing 2016 final will air on BBC One on 17 December from 6.40PM.

There will just be the one show unlike in recent years, with the winner being revealed just before 9PM as the show concludes at 8:55PM.

Of course, this year's series is one more celebrity down then planned after Will Young's exit mid-way through the first month of the competition.

Back in September, 15 celebrities entered the ballroom for the very first time, but only three will make the final.

The last of this year's Strictly promises to make for a dramatic night of dance as the couples battle it out in the ballroom for the very last time.

The couples will dance three routines - their favourite, the judges' choice, and a spectacular show-dance, in a bid to win the viewers' votes and the 2016 Glitter Ball trophy.

The judges - Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli - will score each couple, but it is for guidance only as viewer’s votes alone will decide which couple will take home the Glitter Ball Trophy.

As well as all this, there will be spectacular group performances, magical musical moments and a host of other special surprises as the curtain comes down on another memorable series of dancefloor drama.

Those currently left on the dwindling Strictly 2016 line up ahead of this week's Quarter Finals are Team GB gymnast Claudia Fragapane, sports broadcaster Ore Oduba, TV's Judge Rinder, singer Louise Redknapp and Hollyoaks hunk Danny Mac.

Danny made Strictly history at the weekend with the first perfect 40 EVER for the Samba and his second set of full marks this year.

So far he's the only celeb to score all tens from the judges and that sees him as the firm favourite to triumph.

and also all eliminated dance couples will dance one last time in one group dance together
