This makes a good point, what exactly are Microsoft bringing to the table anymore? Sure they have the Scorpio coming out, but what is the point when they don't really have any killer exclusives on the horizon.

is there really any point in buying an xbox one anymore
might as well just get a decent pc not that the ps4 has given us many mind blowing games either, this gen hasn't been great so far Last edited by RichardG; 11-01-2017 at 12:53 PM. |

Xbox itself has just lost the plot, it used to be so strong around 2008, but they have done nothing really of note since then, they just seem to rely on Halo, Gears and Forza, while they may be good, they are sort of starting to feel stale, Halo especially. I think this will likely be Xbox's last generation, they just seem to have lost any sort of steam.

The PS4 has been killing it this gen, the only thing letting it down is that PS Plus' selection of free games are lacking big hitters.

The short version of the story IMO is that the 360 did so well last gen that Microsoft incorrectly assumed that the Xbone would "sell itself" and they got lazy, and were completely out-maneuvered by Sony in the crucial early stages. They just can't seem to get any real momentum back at this point.

i hate xbox but i don't want it to die out. if sony go and get themselves a monopoly on the console market then they'll never implement some of the much needed features to the psn that we've been waiting years for. :worry;

The trouble isn't with Xbox, it's with Microsoft, who seem to be rapidly losing interest in the Xbox brand. It's like the opposite of Sony, who are depending on the Playstation brand.

The fact that xbox exclusives aren't even xbox exclusives short term any more really demonstrates that... The PC releases are on the same day or at least very shortly after. Microsoft at some point realised that PC gaming isn't dead and realised that, since Windows is still basically a monopoly, they had a pre made platform right there and so Xbox has become... What? A sort of crappy lowish spec PC that you plug into your TV?

i've never liked xbox. i always associated it with the #lads in high school who never shut up about how good they are at modern warfare on their 360. i'd rather go on my playstation and play some kingdom hearts tbh.
