Default Are both John and Edward twp of the most emotionally strong HMs ever?

IMO this is the reason why they have never risen to any of that abuse they have gotten from Nicola...

Their series of X Factor was HUGE, an average of 14m viewers. Around 10m+ of them most likely hated their guts, now think of that if only 1% of those people sent tweets to them or about them? That's 100,000 people commenting horrific things. I saw the boys get death threats on social media, they were taking so much abuse.

If they successfully could shrug that off, no body in a BB house could break them, especially when they have made the amount of cash they have. They probably think it's not worth it. That group of people to Jedward is like a skidmark to them.

I can't imagine either of them being sad or crying. They IMO can take anything and not be affected by it because they are immune due to their past and what they had to deal with. In the last 17 years of BB, you see men, women whatever, break down over family, friends, and petty rows, but i don't see Jedward ever doing that.

I would never imagine them ever saying "i want to leave".

They may be annoying, but their complete calmness and tranquility should be something being applauded by people, not the opposite.

I had never heard of them until watching this season but they're ok. They seem to keep fairly calm when crap hits the fan but their comebacks can be a bit rude. They do bite back but mostly they seem fairly mellow.

I don't know that I would call them the most emotionally strong HM's because I haven't seen every season, but they're doing all right. From what is shown.

Never been a fan of Jedward (since I'm an adult I don't think that's an uncommon thing!) but I've always admired their thick skin, probably easier when they always have each other I guess. They seem to have gotten abuse ever since they first appeared on The X-Factor but they've never been phased by it.

I particularly like the calm way in which they deal with bullies like Nicola - for example the other night when they made the pizza box outfit and Nicola came running out and turned on the bedroom light for maximum drama then blatantly accused Jedward of doing that (both in the extended VT of the evening and the next day shown in last nights episode) - the reply was simply a calm "No, you did", no agro or over the top reaction full of expletives like Nicola did when Kim accused her of lying, no dragging it out all day as a drama - that was it, done. When they were called out for making a mess in the food cupboard again no drama, just happily cleaned it up.

I actually quite respect them, not for what they do but for how they are, regardless of what others think of them.

They're two of the most arrogant and deluded HM's ever, that's why nothing seems to phase them. If they were capable of showing some vulnerability or humility they might get less hate.

If you could get over your pleasure watching nicola rip into them daily you might have noticed she nearly had one of them in tears last night.

Great post.
They are definitely one of the strongest on the surface emotionally.
The sad thing for me is for some, because they hate them, the actions which are really bad from another so called adult, namely Nicola, are what is applauded.
That speaks volumes.

They have had to be strong,in public, individuals in their careers and now in the main, they dismiss most of the insults thrown at them which has surfaced over the years.

They feel and hurt like other people but have a good coping mechanism thankfully.

I'll always take the twins any day over a spiteful and venomous individual like Nicola, whose vile behaviour is unacceptable.
What annoys Nicola is she has no control over them, cannot influence them and they at least answer her back, always doing so in,as you say, in a calm controlled way.

I think people watching will applaud their responses to Nicola rather than her irrational hate filled attacks to them.
I just wish they had nommed her for tonight,it may have been Nicola could have been 2nd last on Tuesday.
No one knows who was where at all.
I think she could well have gone tonight and deservedly so.

Thank you for your really fair post,it was really refreshing to come across this morning.

people of sub normal intelligence rarely get aggressive or upset. im guessing jedward are well below 90 on the iq chart which gives them excuses. the more intelligent people are, the less they get involved in drama, casing point is jc.

Nicole has said the most horrible things to trying and make them cry but they have stayed strong like the soldiers they are.

To be fair this sort of emotional security is common in twins. Many twins will say it's a connection unlike any other (and will freely admit in adulthood to still being closer to their twin than their partners). Basically having that sort of pretty much unbreakable personal connection will eliminate a lot of the social anxieties and insecurities that most people face in life. No matter what happens, they're never alone in the world.

It's also the reason that LOSING a twin sibling can have a huge and permanent psychological effect on the surviving twin. I remember watching a docu about the "twins of the twin towers". There were 4 or 5 "ex-twins" who had their twin die in the attack and had made a support group. It was fascinating really. They talk about it being like being half a person, even several years later.

Absolutely right and also if being.below average intelligence means dealing with an aggressor like equal.adult Nicola, how the Twins do,then I'll happily take below average intelligence anytime.

However they are far from being below average intelligence, in fact someone who cannot control their temper, particularly in public, is more likely to be.

It takes a lot more intelligence to disagree while using a vocabulary that doesn't include expletives than it does to swear.

Well that's simply not true. There are no links between lower intelligence and emotional stability. People who are emotionally stable aren't less intelligent than someone who will go off the deep end for little to no reason.

I like them this series,I think they have shown far more maturity than Nicola tbh, she shouts and swears and looks like the common tart she is,but they just make light of it and get on with ,Why anyone should send them death threats is abhorrent and says more about the person sending them than it does them,I am sure they would get on my nerves sometimes, but I just know I could not stay angry with them for long as they diffuse things so comically , Let them mess around at least they are not bullying anyone !!

Actually I think mentally retarded people can be more prone to aggressive outbursts infact (According some people Jedward have an IQ of 50 so this would make them retarded basically )

Aggressive behavior in people with mental retardation appears to present with greater frequency than in those without intellectual limitations

Correct. The people MOST prone to violence (proven, scientifically) are men in the IQ range of 70 to 90.

This is also why men who have lived otherwise peaceful, non-violent lives can turn nasty with alcohol OR in old age. IQ levels drop by up to 20 points when drunk and can do the same with the onset of dementia... putting people of average intelligence into that 70 to 90 range.
