You know my methods

Spoiler: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columb...pe_controversy http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-rape-her.html http://dailycaller.com/2015/04/24/th...ill-shock-you/ Sulkowicz, dubbed “Mattress Girl,” claimed to have been violently raped in 2012 while attending Columbia University, although her rape accusation crumbled under scrutiny, resulting in her “rapist” being pardoned by the school. Still, the then-student chose to carry around a mattress as a "performance art" act representing the rape she claims happened, even bringing it with her to walk the stage during her graduation ceremony. Essentially she was going out with this guy and they were having sex. One time he banged her up the ass and she called rape 3 months or so later after they split up Before she cried rape they had numerous facebook chats where they were sexually explicit. “f uck me in the but,” she said bluntly during one Facebook exchange. It would seem that this jilted love interest whose deep obsession with the accused transformed into a savage hatred and pretty much ruined his college life. What a piece of work and just in case this wasnt enough: The National Organization for Women has awarded Emma Sulkowicz, a.k.a. “Mattress Girl,” with the Woman of Courage Award. She also made a sex tape ----------- thoughts? Last edited by Niamh.; 07-03-2017 at 11:53 AM. Reason: waaaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooooooooooo biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig |

Why on earth didn't the university expel her? Women like this and the organisation that gave her that ridiculous award give every woman a bad name.

She is a nightmare and depicts EXACTLY what is wrong with the American 'victims are always right' sexual assault approach. At LEAST 8% of sexual assault incidents reported are PROVEN to be fake, and i'm so glad the university didn't cater to her silly threats at the poor boy. It really sucks to think how she probably did succeed in ruining his life quite a bit. Awful, awful girl.

I'd say it's premature to call her a liar, you can't prove that she is lying and you can't paint him as a rapist either. The fact that we'll never know the truth is a failure of a flawed system in place at this university that's ill equipped to deal with situations like this.
I do think that the suggestion that her claims are dampened by the fact that she has a sex tape is disgusting, it's like saying 'well look at what she was wearing, she was asking for it.' Messages prior to the incident are not consent either so it's not enough to throw out her claims. The lesson to be learned here is that there needs to be better systems in place at this university to prevent this sort of thing from happening and to discover the truth when it does. |

Nungesser says that he prevailed despite Columbia’s refusal to consider his best evidence: Facebook messages that he and Sulkowicz sent to each other before and after the alleged rape. The messages sound friendly: “I feel like we need to have some real time where we can talk about life and thingz/because we still haven’t really had a paul-emma chill sesh since summmmerrrr,” Sulkowicz wrote a few days after the night in question.
Not really the convo one would expect after she had been "raped" in the middle of consensual sex? |

After walking his girlfriend home he continued drinking with friends at the Stone Roses bar. 'Mr Tappenden was described in court by a friend as 'a gentle, thoughtful, reserved person, who never hurt anyone physically or emotionally.' Well, we know that's a lie... but he's been cleared so :/

She should be in prison not being aloud to be prancing round with a mattress trying to look like the queen bee victim on campus.

Although I get what some are saying I think people need to be careful that they aren't making sexist, double standard judgements. |

The idea of consent is a tricky one. Not so black and white. Especially on college campuses where casual sex is so frequent. If they were bf and gf, were drunk/fooling around, one thing leads to another, he flips her over and puts in it that end without asking and she doesn't protest, is that rape? Some would say it is.
In college I was always taught 'yes is not the absence of a no'. Apparently you have to ask over and over again 'do you like that?' 'do you want me to do this?' 'are you sure?' which obviously not everybody does. You kinda know when someone wants to have sex and when someone does not. I'm rambling but I guess I mean it's down to a specific situation, your relationship to that person, what you define as 'consent'. We don't know what happened here. But I do think regret and the fact she might not have enjoyed the sex doesn't equal rape. |

And they say society doesn't need any lessons about consent. |
