To be fair the Scots don't have the pressures we have they have better funded services and no uni fees, that said I don't believe Scottish Labour translated Corbyns message effectively.

Theresa May has struck a deal with the Democratic Unionists that will allow her to form a government, sources have confirmed.

The prime minister is expected to see the Queen at around 12.30pm to confirm that a deal is in place.

It follows extensive talks with the DUP late in to the night. Party figures say they have been driven on this morning by their dismay at the possibility of Jeremy Corbyn becoming prime minister.

DUP figures insist that their relationship with May’s team has been close since she became prime minister 11 months ago.

A DUP source said: “We want there to be a government. We have worked well with May. The alternative is intolerable.”

“For as long as Corbyn leads Labour, we will ensure there’s a Tory PM.”

The DUP’s ‘price’ for propping up a new Conservative government will include a promise that there would be no post-Brexit special status for Northern Ireland, the party’s leader in Westminster has confirmed.

Nigel Dodds, re-elected as North Belfast MP, said that among their preconditions would be an insistence that there was no separate deal that would effectively keep the region with one foot still inside the EU.

The DUP fears that special status after Brexit – a key demand of Sinn Féin – would de-couple Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK.

The party will return to the House of Commons with 10 seats and in all likelihood will only support a Tory administration, Dodds said.

With one eye on the Brexit negotiations that begin within the next 10 to 11 days, Dodds said: “There are special circumstances in Northern Ireland and we will try to make sure these are recognised. As regards demands for special status within the European Union, no. Because that would create tariffs and barriers between Northern Ireland and our single biggest market, which is the rest of the United Kingdom.'

Now the UK gets only one side of politics from Northern Ireland dictating to it.
I see major issues arising.

Very proud to have believed in Corbyn from the start. Despite the efforts of the Blairites and Media he's made the party stronger and made the opposition look like a joke. Fantastic leader. Their coalition of chaos won't last long..

Labour are 800,000 behind on the popular vote, what an absolutely miraculous result

A smack in the face for all the people who mocked and berated Corbyn and his supporters

Some of the Sky News presenters look like they want to cry. They did everything to bury Corbyn.

FYI, DUP have links to Terrorist Group Ulster Resistance. You couldn't make it up after all the mud slinging at Corbyn from their supporters

Nobody in the mainstream media talks about this as they are Pro-Tory. I find it totally disgusting that the DUP could have power here.
It's a mad world & Mrs May cannot get to Buckingham
Palace quick enough. Like a rat up a drain pipe.

Yes, Labour have done amazingly well. Vaguely caught something earlier on saying Corbyn has increased Labour vote more than any leader since 1940s.

May will still be in charge...but I do love how she has lost her own majority simply through her arrogance. This was the best realistic result for today really. Calling an election as you thought you would walk it..then losing seats. Just amazing.

Farron just said if Theresa asks for a deal with the Lib Dems, "No deal is better than a bad deal"

Looking more and more likely that we are in for another election this year.
I wonder if there will be a leadership change for the Tories beforehand.

They were the British terrorists though so they're probably fine

I think he should be really proud of inspiring the younger voters to make the effort to get out and vote too

There has to be surely. This was theirs to lose, and May made damn sure they lost it.

I know nothing about the DUP...a few Irish friends seem to be voicing concerns about them now though :/

Definitely.

Some are saying he should resign as he has done 'so badly'

I am no Corbyn fan, but he has strengthened his leadership to amazing levels, if anything he may end up with a few Blairites coseying up to him now.
