People are just getting sick of it. 3 a year is too much. Plus c5 try to create drama too much so its become almost scripted.

bbspy are going off like 'Hmm BB has lost it's viewers to Love Island haha!' when they're on at different times so you don't just decide to watch one and not the other.

They're going to prioritise summer CBB even more now. It wouldn't surprise me if they put summer CBB against Love Island next year instead of civilian to try and combat it.

love island isn't the reason BB is struggling for ratings, BB is the reason. Its not new, its not fresh, its predictable and the type of content in the highlight shows doesn't encourage people to tune in because it never goes anywhere, its just rinse and repeat for however many weeks its on

Bbspy would complain if a paramedic went in the hoose to save someone's life cos it's outside contact.

Because people want to watch Big Brother not, 'Essex on the Beach by the Shore in some Valley'. Also little stunts like 'adding 3 VIP celebs' for a few days won't draw in the mainstream. The mainstream TV viewer (of whom the producers need to start appealing to again) would howl with laughter that Marnie Simpson (most would ask, who?) Nicola Mclean (again, who?) and Gemma Collins (oh, the one who's on every reality show she can get on?) would even be considered celebrities. I guess Marnie and Gemma would draw a few extra eyes considering they have a following, but in turn the same two people would also have viewers switching over. Back to basics would be a step in the right direction, but it'll never happen!

I'm sure the only people who watch now are the forum diehards...and the idiots who watch just to find something to complain to ofcom about.

The warnings are just getting ridiculous. Why on earth do they need to give a warning after 10pm as there may be a 'personal argument'

After the producer manipulation and blatant rigging went overboard in 2014 its been a downward spiral since then. Casual fans even point out that the housemate selection, ever changing rules and lack of consistency with nominations bothers them... but each year this is never rectified, meaning people have given up on tuning in.

In my humble opinion Cal is because they are trotting out the same old stuff year after year and not bringing fresh ideas twists tasks etc to the show. When it has been on for as long as it has they should have a team that can come up with some fresh new ideas. Their WORST idea was putting so many PAIRS into the house. They have done mother and daughter and twins and all that stuff before. Housemates should be individuals. Thats what it started out as and for many years it had massive viewing figures.

The second thing they should do is NOT put in housemates that have appeared on any of those trashy programmes like TOWIE or Ex on the beach. If they HAVE to put them in they should be in celeb one but I think they should be banished from that also. If they cant find decent celebrities that are household names or at least KNOWn they should scrap it.

And thirdly as another poster said three BB's a year is too much. They should be ONE CELEB and ONE CIVILIAN. I still watch it but not half as interested in any of it as I used to be

I think you're right. I was watching it last night and it felt like a show recorded 12 years ago.

I’m expecting officials on Monday to bump the ratings up a lot, didn’t BB17’s average get 500k more bc of officials? They are the true test x

Maybe next year they should have the civilian show straight after January CBB and bc they're obsessed with CBB they can show the second series of that in the summer. That could boost ratings I think.

The show is just very tired and its reputation has only gotten worse.

Doesn't matter if the diehards can see things have improved in some aspects, it's still had its day.

People feel manipulated I think, one of my friends who only watches occasionally now used to be an even bigger fan than me, would vote in every eviction and literally stay in all summer and he went off it almost completely during BB14 and BB15. He was raging when Danielle and Toya were kinda rigged out (Toya losing power and Dani well...we know) and then 4 in 4 out pissed him off and he stopp3d watching towards the end of that and we barely talk about BB now

This is my favourite C5 series so far by a mile, maybe just missing out on top 5 ever?

It's because they just point blank do not listen to viewers. Every year they are told what we want, how we want it and every year they stick two fingers up at the fans that have been there from the start and then wonder why the ratings plummet.
