We get the opportunity, via the Sunday Mail, to hear what Sandy has to say on BB

THIS time next week millions of us will be gripped by the antics of the 12 new housemates as Big Brother 4 hits our screens.

The programme makers hope to grab our attention with even raunchier television.

They aim to make the housemates jump through hoops to win the £70,000 prize.

And the wannabes, chosen from more than 100,000 hopefuls, will happily play ball.

But one person who won't be tuning in is straight-talking Scot Sandy Cumming, whose rooftop escape was one of the highlights of BB3.

Writing exclusively for the Sunday Mail, Sandy says: "It isn't the taking part that counts, it's the five minutes of fame."

BIG Brother has become a 10-week audition for wannabes who use it as a platform to launch their careers as "celebrities".

This was certainly the case in my experience. Before I entered the house I was of the opinion that no person could perform to a host of cameras day and night, night and day, for between two and 10 weeks.

I have to agree with Sandy on his experience of Big Brother but i disagree that all of the BB housemates were out to get a job in T.V

Are all this years BB housemates out for a job in television? we won't know till friday but did past housemates enter the house for a chance on fame!?!? I personally think most didn't

Yes it is, Di. It's the Sunday edition of the Scottish Daily Record.

It was incredibly boring from the inside out but I have been told, from the outside, once cleverly edited and put to music in a one- hour summary show, it made compelling viewing.

If you took away the alcohol, however, I'm sure you would have a very different show on your hands.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with these two statements Sandy made. The reason it was mind-numbingly boring for the housemates was that they had nothing to do - no music, reading material, or tasks to practice.

And if the alcohol consumption had been curtailed, we wouldn't have been subjected to the Jade striptease, or Kate almost suffering from alcohol poisoning.

Two very negative aspects of BB3 which I personally did not enjoy. I am optimistic, however, that BB4 will be far better!

Bring it on . . . . . . . . 5 days to go!
