Stormzy has accused the Metropolitan Police of targeting 'black events' after officers made more than 300 arrests before Notting Hill carnival.

The rapper lashed out at the Metropolitan Police after the force tweeted about a seizure of heroin in the run up to carnival in west London.

The 24-year-old suggested officers were taking such strict precautions because it is an Afro-Caribbean celebration

He fumed: 'How many drugs did you lot seize in the run up to Glastonbury or we only doing tweets like this for black events?'



The Met made 290 arrests, confiscated 190 knives and 18 firearms in a organised swoop prior to Europe's biggest street party kicking off next weekend.

The tweet was met with mixed responses by fans.

Some pointed out at that the heroin bust took place in Catford, south east London, while the carnival takes place on the other side of the city.

While others criticised Stormzy, real name Michael Omari, for allegedly implying only black people go to the carnival.
