I've shopped at LIDL regularly for the last few years and i think their prices are great as is the selection and quality of the produce they offer.
There's still a few items i end up having to get elsewhere but they're getting fewer all the time.

Congratulations to LIDL!!!

I actually gave ALDI a go the other week just because i had to go near their store for another reason and i have to say i was rather dissapointed by the quality and choice in comparison. Things were very slightly cheaper but you could clearly see why.

Do people actually want to shop in budget stores, or is it just that they can't afford to shop anywhere else?

seriously why would anyone pay 100.00 quid for groceries when you can get the same in Lidl for 60.00, I do 80 per cent in Lidl, I would buy everything in there but there are some things you just have to go elsewhere for

They do some pretty decent Powertools and Accessories in LIDL too. I bought a really nice Soldering Station that you can adjust the temperature setting on a few months back and it was around £8 which is a snip. It works really well too.

They can't do crisps or sweetcorn, but everything else is just as good as the expensive brands!
