Read his appalling story this morning, the second similar story in a few months. I hope they catch every one of them. Poor girl separated from friends, may have been drugged preyed upon over and over again by casual strangers in one case three at once.

What is with this? Are a lot of men opportunist sexual predators if a vulnerable girl crosses their path? Is it just bad luck?

It makes me so angry to think this distressed girl was just preyed upon over and over.

Detectives have released images and CCTV footage of two men wanted in connection with a series of sexual assaults on a 17-year-old girl as she was making her way home from a night out in east London.

Officers believe that the victim was attacked on three separate occasions in an hour - from around 23:55hrs on Friday, 29 September up until around 00:55hrs on Saturday 30 September - after she became separated from her friends following a visit to a Tower Hamlets night club.

The student was trying to get home to central London at the time she was attacked in quick succession by suspect 1, suspect 2 and suspect 3. Detectives believe the last attacker was part of a small group.

This story is absolutely horrific. What on earth is going on in the world when 3 different guys felt the need to do this to a young girl? One attacker is bad enough, but 3, in the same area in a short time frame?

Something really needs to be done about the general attitude towards females. Yet, I bet even on this thread we get people trying to blame her. Females just...existing..seems to be a problem and enough to blame them for the actions of disgusting male people.

Poor girl. My daughter is 17 so it particularly strikes a chord with me. She is going to a concert in Dublin with her 3 friends next month which is about a 3 hour drive away from us and I'm going drive them there and wait for them because I'm too nervous about her getting from the venue back to the bus at night up there

How many men are there in the UK?32 million? 33 million?
How many of these cases are there?Probably not even 1% of the UK male population.

it a sad world when this type of thing happen when male or female have a night out and drink some one need to be with them at the end of the night a friend or a family member I been on night out with girls that are friends and I always make sure there get home safe this might ne the longest post I ever done

Regardless of if its 1%, it is shocking that this has happened to this girl, and others before her. And shocking that when something like this happens the conversation turns to 'not all men are like that' and such rather than accepting this is a huge problem (even if it was 0.0000001% of men, its odd that 3 unrelated pervs of this tiny minority happened to be in the same area at the same time to take advantage, eh?) and that misogyny seems to be on the rise...

I agree with all that.I never brought up ‘not all men’.I don’t think those statements are helpful either just like the ‘not all Muslims’ ‘not all .....’

Yes it is a small percentage I think. But still many many more than people think.

I know you didnt bring up not all men. That was in response to the thread elsewhere, where some guy was kicking up a fuss that by discussing this disgusting case, we were branding all men with the 'perv' stick. Which is odd tbh. I doubt anyone thinks all men do this...and if you are 'one of the good guys' then why take offense to people discussing those..not so good.

Not to head over to the dark side on this one, but as has been pointed out... This is more about the specific area, and especially the area plus time of night, than what percentage of men overall would attack someone like this.

Basically, the majority of people who are likely to be wandering around a rough area after say 10pm are going to be bad news.

I've stupidly wandered through a very bad area drunk at 1am, ONCE in my life. I've also had a knife pulled on me once in my life. Same night. It's not a coincidence... It's just a fact that in certain places, at certain times, you are at a much higher risk of attack. Not just x% more risk... But actually a jump from "miniscule risk" to "in serious danger".

That i can put up with, but the chances of a woman being raped late at night being raised to "seriously in danger" in certain areas of the uk is something that should never happen.

There are no go areas after dark all over the world.

Young girls that are under the age to be drinking on their own late at night and so out of it that they cant stand.

If you put yourself in a dangerous situation, chances are it will end badly.

I didn't say that the guy wasn't white ... He was, I lived in Ayrshire (Scotland) at the time and it's basically all white. In fact it's so heavily white Protestant that even catholics are "rare". It's the exact same mentality though... It's all acts of violence committed by violent people who lack empathy for their victims. Granted, not every mugger is capable of sexual assault, but they're a fair bit more likely to be. And obviously it should never happen, but the horrible truth is, violent people will always exist, that risk will always be there, because human beings aren't so far divided from animals as we would like to believe. All we can really do is try to make it "safer"... It'll never be "safe".
