HER tumultuous relationship with co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was one of Jersey Shore's most gripping storylines, but fans will be disappointed to hear that Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola won't be returning for the show's reunion.

It's believed that the beauty will instead appear in the US edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

"Sammi is working on another project," a source told RadarOnline.com. "I believe she is joining Celebrity Big Brother."

Though it's claimed that isn't the only reason the 30-year-old is shunning Seaside Heights, as the outlet also alleges that she doesn't want to be in the same house as her ex-boyfriend.

The insider added: "Everyone was invited to come on the show, but Sammi was the only one who didn't want to.

"A big reason for that was because she didn't want to be around Ronnie."

The former flames' troubled relationship was one of the reality show's leading storylines between 2009 and 2012.

While the long-running MTV series ended in 2012, it wasn't until 2014 that Sammi and Ronnie finally called time on their rocky romance.

The pretty brunette has since found love with boyfriend Christian Biscardi, who she began dating in the spring, while Ronnie is thought to be single again following a brief romance with Khloe Kardashian's BFF, Malika Haqq.

Despite Sammi's absence, fans can still expect seriously entertaining viewing as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Pauly “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Vinny Guadagnino will all return.

Supposedly they're recording the full reunion series at the same time and Sammi has issues with Ronnie anyway.

She's irrelevant on JS without Ron anyway. At least when they were single on the show Ron had his own storylines with the guys, she'd just sit around and talk about him. Their arguments were amazing though and will be missed, but she as a person was definitely the least interesting cast member
