I've said Vicki for ages! With her own little family (hopefully not Spencer) but I think now Meech has gone again they've missed the opportunity.

Someone on DS found an interview with a theatre actor on some website and he mentions working with Jenna Russell and said she really wanted to do the play so had to get herself out of her EastEnders contract.

A sensible approach. She can write people out when the storylines warrant it or when the actors quit. There's no need to be just axing a load of characters and then we spend the first six months of her tenure watching each character get a 2 week exit plot.

I think that's the biggest problem with EE the last few years, they've had such a big turnover of producers that we always go through like six months transition, then six months where they're erasing everything the last producer did and then six months of slow build up of their own stuff. But before they get a chance to get going with their ideas, they're out and a new one comes in and the transition starts again.

Thankfully, I think Yorke has left a foundation for Oates to build on so she doesn't have to waste time resetting everything. A bit like DTC who could just get going in 2014.
