If this new girl turns out to be sent by Kat to sabotage Martin's chances of seeing his kids and to make Stacey appear the victim, then it's not looking good for her characterisation upon her return.

We don't need Stacey/Kat circa 2010, arguably their worst period as characters.

We want more strong 2016 Kat, after Charlie died.

Fingers crossed she returns to open The Albert as part of her own franchise which extends to Spain.

DS have done an article about Vincent saying he needs to go back to his most successful stint when he was involved with the Mitchell's.

Am I remembering it differently because I thought that was bloody awful. There was no real plot line, it just kind of popped up out of nowhere and then disappeared without warning. He randomly started sleeping with Ronnie, but then everyone just forgot it happened. An absolute state. The show hasn't recovered since the mess post-live episode.

It taking ages doesn't bother me.

In this day and age I like when they go back to the way soaps used to be, able to slow-burn and tell stories at a more realistic pace.

But then they still end it with Lauren abruptly making a decision to leave and just walking off with no belongings.

I think the pacing of the show has improved, the scriptwriting just needs a serious overhaul.
Never mind axing cast members and bringing new/old ones in, they need to seriously look at the writing team.

And, although we have Mel back and Aiden's stuff is ongoing, I'm surprised he hasn't set up any major plots that will take us through this year yet.

I'm guessing the Slaters will have them and they're waiting for Kat to come back.

Tbf, as badly written as his plot line has become, the show was badly in need of a villain. Aiden and Ciara were great, two brill actors. The scriptwriters just let them both down, as they do with everyone.

We had a year long whodunnit with Lucy which only ended in 2015.

I hope they leave it longer.

There was a period of time all of the soaps were doing whodunnits one after the other constantly and it got boring.

He's confusing because I'm sure he was announced as temporary just like Ciara and yet he's stuck around a hell of a lot longer than expected.
