Lets see if Dapper can drag himself away from Ashley whilst the 'kids are in town'.....this task must be made for him...with 9 kids he should be the most experienced ..

Unless he's just good at making them rather than interacting.

on the transgender debate though, does a trans person’s parents normally re-name them? because india said that her mum (Sandra) named her after her favourite takeaway. and idk about you, but i have never gotten anything from my local Jonathan , so I assume that she means that her mum named her India after an Indian takeaway? I just thought that you would choose your own name yourself

I don't think there's a single parent that's not sworn in front of their children aw Vicky don't say that having a few slips of the tongue doesn't mean you're a terrible parent!

India was being sarcastic about that And India transitioned at like 50 y/o so I think she's old enough to name herself

I assume from what he said that he is the right pronoun for him though...as surely he wouldn't be talking bout himself as a boy who likes to wear makeup if he was trans. I am not sure though as as I said, still not sure if he was trans, just feminine or a drag queen Have to admit though, glad he was on about challenging stereotypes, rather than trying to tell her he has a female brain or something...not sure how I would have handled that :S So I guess I was lucky in that respect
You arnt getting what im saying...even now you're calling that person he and him and probably don't even know you're doing it. Not your fault and you shouldn't be made to feel bad about it either it's just how you feel instinctively about trans women.

You aren't comfortable with calling someone who wasn't born female she....am I wrong?

I do agree that kids can form their own opinion and if someone looks particularly like a man in a dress ofcourse they will comment and as awkward as it is they speak their mind....ive been in the situation with my brother cmoment ing on someone's appearence on a train once and it's mortifying.

But that's what's make kids great I suppose lol.

sorry but i find this quite funny reminds me of our Dod (one of my housemates) when our dog started sleeping on “his spot” on the sofa. “shift yer arsh, tricia”

i made him sit on the floor for speaking to our dog like that
so he went out

mess I'm sorry I'm imagining Sandra holding India's hand in line at the office while India waits in preparation to hear what her mum's called her, and when she says 'India' she asks why, and that entire conversation comes up

The name change is on the person's own accord, regardless of age. My friend has his name changed to the name he preferred (he's trans and had his name changed when he was 15, I think it was legally but I don't know?) and my friend's brother also changed his name, and he's 13 and trans... ironically they both chase the same name

I think that story was made up. I think India chose that name. i don't think India would have let her mum have a say in it..

But I don't know if he is actually trans, or is just a feminine guy who likes stereotypically womens clothing, or a drag queen (granted he would be a less..brash...drag queen if thats what he was) He did not clarify this. And given he was on about boys liking to wear makeup, that does sound to me like he is the correct pronoun to use anyway

I use preferred pronouns generally. My issue with India was that as she was going on constantly about being male, so I was ****ing up on pronouns. So was attempting to not **** up by using entirely gender neutral pronouns. After our talk the other day though I did try with she, and only messed up twice which wasn't as bad as I thought I actually didn't realise people would find gender neutral pronouns quite so offensive. My brain had such a disconnect with India...

Haha omg! Yeah I can't compare to being a parent but as the only elder boy in my family looking after the kids when I was younger I know what you mean.

I called my dog a twat once for malting all over the clean washing and guess the word the little ones picked up for him? ....twat.
