Default Adult daughters sitting on his lap

Did anyone else find the fact that Johns adult daughters still come and sit on his lap VERY WEIRD. I have never heard of anyone who's adult kids would do that. I also felt for Ann and Amanda who havent kids when the conversation went on a bit about kids and stuff

I find most things about John a bit weird and his daughters sitting on daddy's lap is most odd. Most of them seem cheesed right off with him so i hope its him leaving now Andrew is not gonna get nommed. He is the only one i would really like to see go.

It's not in the least bit weird. I'd be more worried about someone who thinks that is weird tbh.

I wouldn't sit on my dads lap now cause I'd flatten him but I definitely would have in my 20's when I was a skinny young thing.

It's called love folks, doesn't have to be associated with anything else.

..I have lots of friends who still have their adult daughters sit on their lap from time to time......I think it’s very sweet that they still have that bond and that their daughters don’t feel a sense of self conscious to do it...I’d be fine with my sons sitting on my lap except that either would probably crush me, so I don’t t encourage it...

The opposite of weird

Weird would be a family who are afraid of showing love and affection

Love and affection is lovely. It was shown to us by both our parents and we loved them both. I love how adult kids still hug or kiss their parents and tell them they love them. Sitting on their laps I just find strange. Sorry. Just my opinion though

I think she said in some conversation it didnt happen for her but I felt she may have liked one. I have a friend who has no kids and sometimes when she meets all her friends all they talk about is their kids. She would have loved kids but couldnt have them.

It's akin to grown adults calling them "mummy and daddy". Each to their own but a tad juvenile.

We don't know, that's the point. And John saying afterwards that Ann was never married was just plain stupid also. So because someone never married does that mean they never wanted to have kids?

I actually thought it was quite perceptive of Daffy Duck although I don't trust him so I didn't know if it was part of a gameplan or what.

It's not something I've seen someone my age do with their parents but I don't think it'd be that big a deal.

I know what you mean.

I guess i'm just glad to hear a story of close love within a family, especially in today's society where people - and families - seem more divided and distant from each other than ever before.

But yeah i wouldn't do the lap sitting myself! The usual hugs are enough!

What are you blathering on about?

I simply suggested it's ridiculous to feel sorry for someone who's never had kids. There are people who simply don't have them and are fine with that decision. Which was why I asked if Amanda had wanted them.

I don't have an issue with it, if my sons were to sit on my knee they would kill me we have lots of hugs though

I get what Paula is saying, not sure if you are watching but John was very dismissive about Ann being bothered about the kids discussion, and that she never "even" married, like that is a barrier to having kids, I think Ann has expressed that she would like to have married and have kids but never found the right one..

Which has nothing to do with what I asked rionablue about Amanda.

Rionablue has answered.
