Shane J is a one trick pony Im Gay, Im Gay, Im Gay, oh by the way, did you know Im gay He doesnt seem to be able to handle the fact that nobody gives a ****, if he is gay or not, they wanted to talk to him, not the Gay spokesman of the world If he ever gets the f..k over himself, he might be a fairly nice guy, but right now, he just needs to understand that life does not revolve around him, not sure he can deal with that though Hope he goes tonight, really hoping

Homosexuality is fine, just as long as you're quiet about it!

Homophobia is less of an issue if homosexuality were ignored rather than celebrated. When you champion something like sexuality said people feel entitled, and stop wanting equal treatment but special treatment.

Sorry Dezzy but that's BS. The vast majority of people in this world are quiet about their sexuality. We don't go round all day talking about our sexuality. It's not the number 1 defining factor of someone's personality and if you genuinely think it is then it's a little scary. Last edited by Paula D; 30-01-2018 at 02:49 PM. |

I'll give you an example, I've asked a number of times now what rights exactly do gay people in the UK not have and no-one has answered.
I can only take from that there are not rights that they don't have so why are they constantly screaming gay rights? |

You think gay people don't need to talk about their sexuality because you don't have to as a heterosexual but the thing is, if an LGBT person stays quiet about the injustices they face then those injustices keep happening. Your discomfort doesn't really matter much when you match it against raising awareness of issues that plague the gay community. |

And for that matter how do you know what I think? Also what are all these injustices you speak of? I've asked for examples about 10 times now, no-one has given me any. |

He screamed human rights at us constantly as if it was applicable only to him. My point is, we all have rights, if they conflict, work it out, don't gang up, don't harass and work together. If it is not possible, don't drag up old issues, hear each other, draw a line under them and move forward.

As for the rest of your post, you're basically saying what I mocked in that 'Gay people are okay, just be quiet about it' post. Being gay is only okay if you can pass for normal, being gay is only okay if you don't consider it a massive part of who you are, being gay is only okay if the gays minimise their gayness as to not offend others. Gay people don't make themselves look like attention seekers for embracing their sexuality, that's just what people who are uncomfortable with gay people being comfortable with who they are think. https://www.ranker.com/list/8-things...an_t-do/cdu827 (a tad outdated given the marriage one) http://wyomingequality.org/half-of-s...-equal-rights/ Also given Shane J is from Australia, his talk of LGBT rights clearly stems from his upbringing in Australia, which is less progressive than the UK. I don't think he has ever said "UK should have equal rights for LGBT people but not Australia!!!". In fact, I've never heard him specifically mention the UK? https://www.sbs.com.au/topics/sexual...ghts-australia Quote:
So tl;dr, they're 'constantly screaming' gay rights because in places like Australia and the USA, there are still laws against LGBT people, and in other places gay people can be killed for being gay |

You seem intent on shutting down any talks of gay rights.

As for 'talking about a UK politician', he's saying that she voted against a lot of LGBT laws, which is true. Do I agree with how he tried to turn Amanda against Ann? Not particularly, and yes Ann didn't end up having her way in the end, but I'm pretty sure he recognises that they were all passed, and if he didn't Amanda told him they were ... I don't think Shane J is trying to change the world? He's just bringing up issues and making people realise LGBT people aren't equal in the world |
