People sometimes believe what they want to believe and I'd say it's especially true of close relatives. My mum found gay porn in my room when I was a teenager and I somehow managed to explain it away even with that happening she was still surprised when I later came out.

So true. It makes it so difficult for a balanced and dignified debate to take place, and makes any contribution seem pointless. Goodness knows what TwoSugars must think being new to the forum.

Sadly some would rather scoff, ridicule and/or deny such is the case.

Thanks for contributing your post to this hijaxers.
Please stop making your passive aggressive digs at me, address me or leave me out of it, you not only moved the goalposts of what we were discussing, you picked them up and ran off with them

I find the language quite odd if I am honest. 'I identify as a lesbian' rather than just..'I am a lesbian'. What is it with youngsters today and 'identifying as' rather than...being.
Not really odd.

If someone is bisexual, I have come across particularly when at Uni.
A few would say they were bi but identify themselves as being Gay,as their attraction to men was stronger than to females.

I can't speak for anyone else, but if I said 'I identify as bisexual/curious' it'd be because in reality it's actually a lot more complex than that and also ~I don't really like labels~, so it's just easier to navigate most people to the easiest to understand term rather than sit there and try and explain the complexities of something no one other than me cares about, or get into a debate about the usefulness of categorising sexual preferences. Maybe it's similar?

S&M is about to start coming under the LGBT alphabet soup, believe it or not

There are pushes to add a K, for kink.

Yeah this, some people see sexuality as more of a scale, the kinsey scale I think it's called? Maybe they use 'identify' because they don't actually consider to be definitively one or the other, just strongly towards one, and using gay/lesbian is just easier, for them it's a label demanded by society rather than something that actually represents who they are.

Perhaps you should be aware that most of those you speak about were very liberal before all this incessant LGTB spouting from Shane and his acolytes.
W
However, it is poor Gay this and poor Gay that and poor Gay and poor Gay

I can give you a list of what has happened to me which far outweighs anything written on here.

I do not wallow in it, I do not want special treatment because of it and I do not want others to wipe my forehead while I sob my eyes out.

For goodness sake, get a grip. You are not fighting in Afghanistan like my neighbour who has lost his leg. You are not like my happy other lady Gay neighbours who live their lives to the full.

If you find some posters unsympathetic than you have to realise that on a scale of things you are pretty near the bottom when it comes down to suffering either physically or mentally. Do you know what living in physical pain 24/7 is like?

There will come a time when your problems will pass. You will age and those same problems will be resolved. It is not the end of the world, I fended for myself from the age of 16 so I know it will pass. Just make your life plan and go for it, not sit there feeling sorry for yourselves.

That's my soapbox rant, if you do not care for it or disagree then you have an inkling of how others feel about Shane J going on and on and on and I still could.

No digs at anyone at all.
In fact my examples are in relation to no one at all on here.

You stated to me was I expecting you to believe this could be the case.
I responded to you.

Then gave my examples of people I know and at least one other shared their experience with me.
This thread is talking about coming out as to sexuality and getting support from family.

Are you now for balance actually going to pull everyone up on here, who also have not just talked about Andrew and his sister,or 'ONLY' me Cherie.

But its still a label

Just you are saying you 'identify' as a label, rather than are

'Identifying as' to me means you are saying you are something you are not. Like..I don't identify as human, I am human. I could identify as a cat, as I am not a cat. If that makes sense.

I think this is pretty daft. You are either gay, straight or bi, or assexual. There is no scale. if you are kind of lesbian but sometimes like guys, this means you are bi. If you are mainly straight but have had same sex attractions now and again, you are still bi (this is me )

Believe it or not there are people out there who "identify" as animals.

Madness.

Lmao yeah but they really want to make every intricacy of their sex life apparent now. It’d make sense for like your dating profile or whatever but people introduce themselves to just all people like this now

Yeh, thats the basic jist of it. Entirely heterosexual (0), entirely homosexual (6), various levels of bisexuality (1-5) and asexuality (which was represented by an x in the oroginal study, although this image ignores that)

If you care to look back at my posting history from previous series I think you'll find I've never had a problem with LBGT issues, still don't.

What I do have a problem with is Shane J and his vicious sly carry on.

I also have a problem with gay people being thrown out of the "club" for not being the right sort of gay.

Kind of ironic that John B got crucified for even making a joke about a club when Amanda can be dismissed just because she happens to not like Shane J.

Also, there are gay people in here also ashamed of this carry on but it's convenient for you just to ignore them isn't it? Are they not allowed to have LGBT issues because there not the same as your issues.

None of that is a defence? Some people are getting visibly agitated in every single lgbt thread, thats just a fact.

Because we’re sick of the culty movements that are not needed in the first world and the 373847383 labels
