Defintely, we’ve had more episodes set in “the past” now then we have the present

Also did anyone else think Joan’s second character was completely unnecessary? She was pretty much exactly the same as the first one, to such an extent that I thought it was the same one to begin with, they could/should have used a different actress. Same with next week by the looks of things with Evan and Billy’s secondary characters, it’s just lazy/messy

It wasn't too bad this week but this series has been completely ****ed by the odd timeline. You just know Ryan Murphy wanted to start with the end of the world for a bit of cheap impact even though the story really didn't suit it.

Chronological order would have had a better impact. It would have built to the apocalypse nicely and would have been more dramatic to see it try and get undone but go ahead anyway.

That was such a week episode especially for one that aired on Halloween

I know Ryan Murphy is a hack at the best of times but it's really quite staggering how much even he has managed to **** this season up despite having all of the hard work already done for him. Bringing all these actors, characters, seasons, themes altogether, it's just naturally something special? Until RM gets his grubby hands on it.

I mean, I know AHS has never been high art but, my god, RM wouldn't know subtlety and depth if someone shoved a brick up his arse to illustrate.

It was a meh episode that didn't really further the storyline any further, it could have all been covered in a 15 minute segment of another episode tbh. Micheal encounters a church of satanists that welcome him and introduce him to some players with enough clout to kickstart the apocalypse. Two or three scenes, done.

Also Billy Eichner playing a bro is just not realistic and those wigs were a choice.

The writing is just straight up bad too, I actually gasped when Smithy pointed out that massive continuity error. This is straight up amateurish, still, It's better than Cult at least.

It barely feels like the season has started though and it looks like we'll go back to the present for the final episode for a quick wrap-up. It's like a bunch of schoolchildren have been put in charge of this season.

If I was in charge of Netflix's acquisitions and I watched this season, I'd cancel Ryan Murphy's development deal immediately.

What I find a mess is how underdeveloped most of the main characters still are.. still barely know anything about Dina, Mallory, Cheyenne's warlock character ....
