Default Do you think that...(BBUS related)

The British Format would have been success if BB1 had a more interesting cast?

Interesting as in BB2 standard...

I don’t think the NA format would be liked by the British public because they like to vote and have their say...

There would be ways to combine the two without bpmaking it so durastically different. You could have a Head of Household (voted for for the public like Power Housemate) who nominates two for eviction. There's then a Power of Veto (only HOH and noms compete to make it more likely to be used). HOH names the replacement - then the public vote to evict.

Big Brother Brazil basically

Without the HoH decided by public vote, and normal POV format...

Didn't all the big characters in BB1 go first? I don't think it would have lasted tbh.

Here is what I think could've happened.

Season 2: Dr. Will wins with no competition. If Monica made F3, the only upset is her winning due to losing her cousin. I don't fully believe that Dr. Will would've evicted first for being the most interesting, he was lightyears ahead of everyone in the charisma department than anybody from Season 1.

Season 3: Jason would be the typical "nice, white winner". Danielle would've been more of the "I'm a mom with two kids" type as opposed to the strategic villain she became.

Season 4: Jack probably wins because he was an older guy. It's possible David wins because he was entertaining, eye candy for the girls, and an army vet. Erika also makes it far since she was associated to these two.

Season 5: Toss up between Drew, who is the same case as Jason or Nakomis, one of the first underdogs to be popular and successful (besides Will). Jase and Diane would be interesting to see in this format to see if they make it far for being entertaining or instant burnouts.

Season 6: Kaysar wins with no competition, as he stood out as one of the most consistently popular players. Since Kaysar and Eric don't butt heads for strategic reasons, there's no division and the nominations would've been more cult-like with fans evicting whichever Nerd Herder was eventually nominated. There is a chance that since Janelle brought more entertainment that the fans ultimately line up to start supporting her.

Season 7: This isn't really up for debate because nobody with the right frame of mind would've agreed to return to the house knowing they'd lose to Kaysar or Janelle, who you couldn't technically do all-stars without. They'd have to consider making this a second chance season and even then, the cast would be very different. Assuming the same 14 who was on the season, the winner would be again, between Kaysar and Janelle, possibly whichever one of them who didn't win the year before.

Season 8: Toss-up between Evel Dick and maybe Jessica or Eric. Daniele also has a chance if Dick ended up evicting, as all of Dick's fans would cultivate to her.

Season 9: Toss up between Alex, Matty, or James. Alex and Matty would then become the same types of winners as Drew/Jason as James would become a Nakomis/Kaysar type winner.

Season 10: Toss-up between Dan and Keesha. It's also hard to tell because Brian could've entertained America all the way to $500k or be evicted for coming across as a try-hard, or Keesha or Dan could still come out on top. There were a lot of people who were heavily popular and in many eviction rounds, the vote could've gone either way.

Season 11: Jeff wins with no competition.

Season 12: Britany wins with no competition, especially since she wouldn't have needed a twist to help her get further in the game unlike Rachel would've needed.

Season 13: Same situation as Season 7, you couldn't get dynamic duos to return to the game unless you confirmed Jeff/Jordan weren't there. This twist wouldn't have even made sense in the UK format anyways. None of the new players wouldn't stood a chance nominated against a returning player. If they stuck with the same cast, either Jeff wins or their fans unite to give it to Jordan. Jeff could also campaigned over the feeds to give it to Jordan this time.

Season 14: If it contained returning players, it would still have to be four players who are all love-hate players (i.e. Rachel) and if Janelle, Britany, or Janelle won their previous seasons, they would've either declined because they'd assume nobody would vote for a 2-time winner or if Jeff won in 2011, America wouldn't award a two-time winner two years in a row. Of all of the new players, only Frank or Ian stand a chance.

Season 15: Either Elissa wins, not necessarily because she's Rachel's sister, but because the only person who could've ever been likable enough to surpass her in the final vote was Nick, who probably would've beat her. This is ironic considering that Elissa can win because she's Rachel's sister, Rachel couldn't win as she has no shot against Britany and wouldn't beat Jeff/Jordan, unless Jeff/Jordan were not offered a spot on Season 13.

Season 16. Donny wins with no competition, as everybody else would've been a try-hard. Donny probably gets nominated a whole lot and would've just survived nominations against the other misfits (Britany, Jacosta, etc). Derrick, Frankie, and Cody would've influenced the house strong enough that each of them would've avoided the vote and it would've felt very cult-like.

Season 17: Either Johnny Mac, James or Audrey win. Audrey has the upper-hand, but I feel it would've still been a matte of time that she would've still got caught up in the drama in the house and could've gotten a meltdown or even self-evict. The other upper-hand that Audrey, or even Da'Vonne or Vanessa could've had is that this is the year where the "female must win" movement started.

Season 18: Again, it would've still has to excluded James. Those who befriended the returning players make it to the end and the others go one right after the other, except for Natalie. As Natalie and James were both very popular, their disadvantage could be fans splitting the votes if they're in the end. If James wins Season 17, he likely loses Season 18 and either she, Nicole, or Da'Vonne win as apart of the "female must win" movement.

OTT: If broadcasted, Jason wins, unless they broadcasted his inappropriate comments towards Shelby. If not broadcasted, either Alex or Shelby win. If the final three was Alex, Shelby, & Jason, Alex and Shelby run into a problem as the Ball Smasher fans would be splitting votes.

Season 19. This would've still had a cult-like nominations feel, as the in crowd would consistently nominate the out crowd. Cody and Jess would've eventually challenged Paul, and the whole season would've still been Jody vs. Paul & Co, with Marlena picked off if nominated against Jess or Grodner trying to get one of the minions evicted instead of Paul. Jess Probably wins and even though there's a push for female winners, Jess wins because she became such an underdog and was more likable than her own allies.

Celeb BB: Ross wins with no competition.

So, in theory, it could work, but the later season would've been more related to forced showmances, people clinging up to returning players, which still doesn't make sense in this format, and we would've gotten more and WAY more try-hards and "Please don't evict me, I'm married with a wife & kids" (i.e. Derrick, Jason) and then, there's Frankie and Raven and these factors would've made the show look superficial. Social Media also would eventually play a huge part as previous houseguests could start campaigning for houseguests. For instance, Da'Vonne and Nicole could campaign on Social Media to save Paul and their fans may follow their lead. The more recent seasons would've been in crowd vs. out crowd over and over again.

Another factor is in the male-female win ratio could even be a bigger margin than it is now. Nakomis is the first female who could have any shot, and even then she is up against Drew. Then we have Janelle, Daniele/Jessica, and Keesha who are maybes. Britany is the only female who wins without too much competition from a man. All of them blonde, except Nakomis. Then, you have Elissa who has an advantage and not very many people in her season were likable enough to give her a run for her money. Then you have popular females from seasons 17, 18 & OTT who could win because there's been a push for female winners.

It is impossible to tell exactly what could happen, as we also have to consider penalty nominations and twists, not to mention theories of production interference.

Good points you have made there, Koadey, I wouldn’t be able to do such a full-on explanation just like that...

There's no way Janelle wouldn't have won BB6

Assuming each season had the same F3s:

BB2:
Will wins.
Monica is close behind because of sympathy votes after 9/11.
Nicole finishes in third.

BB3:
Jason wins.
Danielle, another close vote...
Lisa finishes in third.

BB4:
Alison wins.
Robert comes in second, another close vote...
Jun finishes in third.

BB5:
Drew would win by a landslide because of the teenage girl vote primarily.
Diane finishes in second.
Cowboy finishes in third.

BB6:
Janelle would win, with probably the largest winning percentage in BBUS history.
Ivette finishes in second.
Maggie finishes in third.

BB7:
Janelle wins again, for the second year in a row...
Boogie finishes in second, after the closest vote between a winner and Runner-up in BBUS history, because some people may be resistant to Janelle being a two-time winner...
Erika finishes in third.

BB8:
Same order as the actual thing. First case of producer rigging, with Dick in favour of winning. Dick would have a significant margin over Daniele and Zach.

BB9:
Ryan wins by a landslide.
Adam finishes in second because some of the comments he made in the house were controversial...
Sheila finishes in third because she didn’t have a proper strategy to begin with...

BB10:
Dan wins.
Jerry comes in a close second because he was quite popular wth the viewing public, he was runner-up to Keesha for AFP.
Memphis finishes in third.

BB11:
Jordan wins and gets more than half of the votes to win.
Kevin finishes in second.
Natalie finishes in third.

BB12:
Enzo wins by a significant margin, due to his personality and the entertainment value he brought to the season...
Hayden finishes in second, teenage girl vote.
Lane finishes in third.

BB13:
Same order, another case of producer rigging, in favour of Rachel. With or without rigging she would have won anyway...

BB14:
Dan wins again, the second winner to have won two times since Janelle.
Ian finishes in second with a very close vote, similar mindset to BB7...
Danielle finishes in third.

BB15:
Andy wins by a huge margin, he was the only one deserving of the win.
Spencer finishes in second.
GinaMarie would finish in third, with probably the lowest percentage to win for a third placer in BBUS, due to her racist comments.

BB16:
Cody wins.
Derrick finishes in second.
Victoria finishes in third.
Votes per houseguest would probably be around the same percentage each.

BB17:
Vanessa wins by a landslide.
Steve finishes in second.
Liz finishes in third.
Steve and Liz would probably get roughly around the same votes to win.

BB18:
Paul wins.
James finishes in second.
Nicole finishes in third.
All three would get rougly the same percentages to win.

BB19:
Paul wins, third two-time winner, second to do it back-to-back, wins because of producer rigging.
Josh finishes in second.
Christmas finishes in third. (She had no chance anyway...)

Didn’t include OTT because the winner was decided by the public vote...

BB changing formats is the only reason it's a success. American reality TV is still a reaction to Richard Hatch winning Survivor. We saw him make alliances and "break the game" so to speak and we concluded "this is how you win." On the flip side, we saw Kelly Wiglesworth battle with her emotions and be wishy-washy and we concluded "this is how you lose."

But even besides the cast and the format, as someone who actually sat through BB1 (one of the only ones on this forum I think?), the biggest mark against it was just how slow-paced it was. They alternated between nominations one week and evictions (excuse me, banishments) the next week, and when you're only getting rid of one person every two weeks of course the show is gonna drag quite a bit. They tried to speed up the endgame but it really wasn't enough to undo the damage.

On the flip side, we saw Kelly Wiglesworth battle with her emotions and be wishy-washy and we concluded "this is how you lose."

I watched BB1 but quit on Day 3 because it was dead boring...

I don't have time to go through all the times to where if it was a pubilc vote, someone on BBUSA would have stayed in the house.

But I will lean more towards like the end of the game.

BB2-Part of me wants to say Monica would have won due to sympathy of her sister dying in 9/11 whilst she was in the house. But Shannon and Will were way bigger characters despite that. But there's that.

BB3-I believe Lisa still would have won if BB3 had a public vote for winner.

BB4-BB5-No difference.

BB6-Janelle would have survived F3 if it was a public vote, and won.

BB7-Janelle would have gotten further and won, and/or Erika would have won the final vote against Mike Boogie.

BB8-Daniele would win the final public vote. Eric would have possibly made it further too.

BB9-BB10-No difference

BB11-No difference. In fact the season panned out how it would if it was a public vote involved.

BB12-No difference. Annie might have survived the first eviction possibly if America voted.

BB13-No difference. Funny how Danielle said if it was a public vote for winner Rachel would have lost, she wouldn't have against Porsche.

BB14-Dan would have won.

BB15-Andy wouldn't have won. The racists that made it to the end wouldn't have gotten as far as they did. The good guys:Helen, Candace and Jessie and Judd would have gotten a lot further.

BB16-BB17-No difference.

BB18-Paul likely would have won. Tiffany maybe would have gotten further. His game in BB18 was better than in BB19 But other than that, the people America like stayed in the house like it would if it was a public vote.

BB19-Josh probably would not have won. Paul wouldn't have gotten as far as he did. Jessica would have gotten farther than she did. Other that than, no difference.

OTT-No difference. Especially since the winner was chosen by public vote

Celebrity-Shannon Elizabeth would have won.

I wanted to do a youtube series/podcast on this very topic as well.

Remember, the final three would probably never be the same because some players weren't popular enough to get to this point of the game - i.e. Victoria, Gina Marie, Spencer, Cowboy, Alison, Jun, Maggie, Ivette, etc.

People like Audrey, Nick Uhas, Da'Vonne (in both seasons), Donny, Dominic, Cassi, probably both Shannon Elizabeth & Shannon Dragoo, Kaysar, Sarah, etc all make it further because they were popular.

I forgot about Shannon, and to be fair, if she doesn't get a meltdown, she could beat Ross.

And I argue that Janelle could win BBUS6 because she provided more drama and entertainment than Kaysar.

As for BB Canada,

1. Gary probably wins and rightfully so as he probably doesn't get evicted, with Emmett a close contender

2. Jon or Neda, most likely Neda wins. Ika for sure makes it very far, but I think she won't beat Jon or Neda because Jon/Neda were far more heroic and she still bullied Heather. The women have an even lower-hand this season since they all ganged up on Heather.

3. Brittnee probably wins with Bruno as the closest contender. Kevin also could've gotten a chance. Sarah was more villianous as Brittnee was more of a hero. Jordan also probably goes far and Sindy might even go first if she remained nominated.

4. Nikki probably wins, though Loveita may last long enough to give her a run for her money. Cassandra is also probably Nikki's closest contender. Funny how Nikki could win BB Canada when she wouldn't win BBUK.

5. Ika for sure wins with Demetres her only contender. Houseguest would probably be terrified to nominate Neda, who remained the fan-favorite before the show in fear of being nominated.

6. Anything between Hamza, Veronica, Erica, or Will and Johnny by a long shot. This is the one season where the people who made it further probably get evicted and those who didn't make it far probably get evicted. Of the three who have the best chance, Erica lasted longer, but Hamza and Veronica probably try to make things interesting the whole way through.

-
Other factors to consider is ever since BBUK was on Channel 5, they use the vote to save and three nominees minimum. There's a chance that BBUS/Canada could adopt that, which could help get rid of boring houseguest faster. Also, Canada's triple eviction twist would bound to screw over one good houseguest.

I'm slightly torn. Nikki and Nick & Phil got the most votes for HOH, even beating Cassandra, who is equally as popular. What counts against Nikki is Canada would be one to vote for a winner just to have all of it's winners be Canadian. Also, this marks Nikki's third time trying to win.

And if Sarah didn't win Season 3, she'd be the first person they would've called for Season 5.
