Doesn't take much for the snooty remarks towards the younger generation does it?

i'm all for 20 somethings getting a jump start, however, given that by 2030 the majority of pensioners wont be on final salary pension schemes, i'm not sure how they will have the money to give. Also, if someone gets a gift of 10k, they will also have to donate a gift later in life to the next generations of 20 somethings, so it is basically receiving with one hand and giving back with the other at a later date when they equally may not be able to afford to do it

No doubt some will be eager to accept but not so eager to give when their turn comes. Stupid and unworkable idea in my opinion.

I honestly feel it's unfair for those of us that weren't entitled to it

For people now / already older I think it's a bit of a "whatever"... I mean, we would never make any improvements for the future at all if the decision was based on "what people had in the past".

I do think it's harsh for people who will turn 25 in 2028/2029 though... imagine missing out by a couple of months .

You'd also have situations where siblings only two years apart in age would have the older one get nothing while the younger one is entitled to the Ł10k.

Isn't that a huge part of the argument today though, instead of saying okay this is what we have and need to address if we are to move on with our lives, there is constant harking back to to the 80s when everyone had it so great, house prices were low and there were no tuition fees
