Lesbian sex is fine, gay sex is illegal, but rarely punishable. Kind of like driving 35, or stealing a chocolate bar.

Everyone should be allowed to have sex.. straight men and women, gay people and the lesbians too. Let's hope they see it that way soon. Equality for all. R.

That would just be weird. Like, neither of them would enjoy it? I guess if both were just curious about what it was like or something.

Chewing gum is also illegal in Singapore. Pushing a pram on the pavement is illegal in the UK. All laws that aren't really enforced.

Our best law has to be that it is illegal to DIE in the houses of parliament though. How on earth do you enforce that, unless you lock up family members of whoever committed the heinous crime

It's basically a technicality and from what I know, they're essentially in the process of removing the "criminality" of it from law. It's not like Saudi etc... nothing will happen and there are plenty of openly gay couples in Singapore.
To be fair, I would say probably better not to take the risk with PDA's if travelling there, but it's not a huge risk if any... as Niamh says, they have gay nightclubs etc... I think it's essentially a "don't flaunt it in public places but in general a blind eye is turned" situation for the time being? Plus the majority religion there is still Buddhism, followed by Christianity. Of the two, Christianity is the more strict on homosexuality. Buddhism basically "advises against" homosexuality for Buddhists, but is open and accepting of homosexual relationships for non-Buddhists. |

The Tantric Bar (why is it always sex obsessed with gay bars and clubs?) anyway The most popular gay bar in Singapore. Tantric gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights with party boys who down a few cocktails before heading to Taboo. A great combination of sights, sounds and reasonably-priced drinks (such as ultra-affordable double-shot house pours for SGD10 a glass) makes the open-air courtyard and indoor bar a great place to start any night out. https://www.travelgayasia.com/venue/tantric-bar/ read the reviews, it sounds hideous |

Yes, I'll be sure to press the straight switch on the back of my head to the on position before I enter that particular country.
