Default WC2018: How far will England get?

Reminder that our group opponents are: Tunisia, Panama and Belgium (in that order, I believe). Poll coming!

Reach the quarterfinals.

2 wins (Panama and Tunisia) 1 loss (Belgium) in group stage, finishing 2nd in the group. Win against either Poland/Colombia.

After that things go awry.

Although either of Poland and Colombia could give major problems to England. Especially Colombia.

For anyone interested in beyond the 2nd round, our QF opponents could be any of: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia, Germany, Sweden, South Korea and Mexico. I think it's safe to rule out Serbia and South Korea.

Any one of those would be tough challenge tbh. Brazil and Germany of course the biggest ones.

flop in the group i guess, with only talent and no experienced player is really a disadvantage against teams who have got both talent and experience in their teams

Yeah sure. I mean, look at all that talent and experience on Panama and Tunisia. There is no way England could win against such good teams.

Only way England could disqualify themselves if they underachieve and panic.

I don't think there's much pressure on them to do well this time. The last time I remember England going into a World cup without the expectancy was 1990. With a little bit more luck, we'd have won that.

I think Rashford has the talent to light up this tournament, just as Gazza did in 1990. But he's no good to us sat on the bench, let the kid play.

I think quarters. Depending on who they draw could even be semis but think quarters is an realistic option
